I know you're joking but I keep reading these posts...

Czechs have considerably more success than Slovaks since seperating.. Olympic Gold, 5 world championships, 2 world junior titles and about 30 NHL players vs about 10 for Slovakia. This is in no way a shot at the Slovak's (who I cheer for) but combining us at any level would basically be the same Czech team with about 3 better players. Eg. our Czech squad would have Chromiak and Saflovsky and that'd be about it. At a pro on pro level... it'd be the Czechs plus Tatar and Cernak.

Putting it another way... Czechs would finish 6th. Czechoslovakia would finish 6th but there wouldn't be a Slovak team and that would suck as I like my Slovak teams (gorgeous jersey too).

Even worse for Germany.. when they do break through and get a good shot they're staring at Askarov. Russian's are playing a nice patient game... 2 goal lead will be tough to overcome. Germany needs to get one soon.
