Having the benefit of the review it’s clearly an ok hit, but I can definitely see how a ref in real time would come to the conclusion they did. However, I think a quick video review (initiated by the refs) would be a good idea before 5mins+game penalties are awarded (similar to SJS-VGK) as these can be game changers.

I think that hit could have qualified for a 2+10 as it did hit him in the back of the body and I think per IIHF rulings there's no such thing as a clean hit to the back.
Though, 5 minute major isnt really right. It was unfortunate outcome for the Slovak player though Hope he is ok
