Why are the refs all Canadian when Canada plays? Doesn't make any sense at all. Why does IIHF allow this for Canada but not for anyone else?

I'm not sure if you are aware, but there's a worldwide pandemic on and it makes international travel challenging.

Teams can travel and they spend their time in their respective "covid-bubble" for the entire tournament. I'm pretty sure refs could do it as well.

I’m not sure why this is so difficult to understand but many refs at this level do not do it as a primary job. It’s something they do “on the side” and they have jobs like being police officers, fire department members etc that to quarantine as well as attend the tournament is a huge commitment.
