Sportsnet: Q Byfield Available

Out of a deal like this, the Kings biggest need would be Byfield. His potential was 1C, after watching how he’s continued to improve at C position this season, he definitely is a 1C. I don’t see Blake even considering an over pay for him.
The worst 1C in NHL is probably someone like Hintz or Tavares. Don’t see him on that level yet at all. At best he’s a Norris or Stamkos level player. AT best. IMO he’s on par with Dylan Cozens

I don't know. Earlier in a thread, i said he was a high end 2c or low end 1c. I still feel that way. With Kopi in the latter part of his career, I would be surprised if QB were available. But Blake already traded Vilardi and stranger things have happened. Maybe Blake and Robitaillle want to go for a more offensively gifted center? ...

The premise of this thread, “rumor or not”, seems insane. Kopitar is 37 and is clearly finally slowly down. Danault is more of an elite middle-six C at this point.

The biggest organizational need the Kings have is long-term top center…and they have this guy who is 22, has slowly evolved his overall game and has physical traits for miles and is scoring at a PPG pace the last two months as he gets more workload at center and he’s signed at an extremely reasonable rate through 28-29…and it some doofus’ galaxy brain it makes sense to trade him?

I don't think that any reasonable person on this planed would grade Byfield as available

This is Kypreos reporting it.

Odds are good it is total nonsense.
