And he owns the entire area where the stadium is located, along with condos. If he ever decided to sell, it could possibly turn into a relocation situation, or the new owner having to shell out for a brand new stadium or pay a crazy lease on the property.

I think Canucks fans are stuck with a known meddler of an owner, unforntunately.
Not much in downtown Vancouver for another arena. But, Rogers arena lacks space in the concourse due to being built between 2 viaducts, which are planned to be taken down. Long term, the arena needs to get wider.

I must be higher on Willander than a lot of people. Guy looks like a great RHD prospect with a very high floor

Lots of people are very high on Willander.

Cant wait to watch him in the Frozen Four tomorrow. He controls the game in so many aspects, from skating to IQ and physical play.

I think he is easily a top 4 Dman in the NHL that plays in every situation including being matched up against the other team's top line.

I'm not keen on moving him but i also understand that you have to give to get and if we can get a legit legit young 2C then id be open to it.

If we did keep him, i can see Willander being to Hughes what Toews is to Makar.

13th-15th oa + Willander would be a heck of a package. That should net them a pretty good 2C
That’s an understatement, that would be one of the best packages a team could have put together in a long time.

When was the last time a top prospect that’s right handed with size and can skate alongside a 15th Pick was potentially available?

The idea of trading Willander for Barzal (or somebody similar) gives me total Faber for Fiala vibes. The Canucks better get back something less infuriating than Fiala, as talented as he is, if they deal Willander.

Some names that were discussed in the show ( not part of the rumor but just part of the discussion)

Barzal
Kent Johnson
Cole Sillinger
Marco Kasper
Marco Rossi
Trevor Zegras
Mason Mctavish

If Willander is on the table then you will have options.

I think Sillinger could be had from Columbus if Willander is on the table. They should probably even add if Willander is on the table. Sillinger has looked terrific since his injury break, but has guys ahead of him at center. I usually don't think of him as a future top six guy, and really question whether he thinks the game well enough for it, but he has been excellent lately and is only 21.

Kent Johnson is not available.

My guess is Rossi is your guy.

Is Kent Johnson still in consideration to become a C?

The last time he was at center he put out his shoulder taking a faceoff, last year. He could absolutely do it in other respects though, he thinks like a center, there just hasn't been any desire to put him there since that injury.

I'd be aiming at Kulich personally. Not sure what Buffalo needs- Willander would fit that team well and it by all accounts ready to log solid minutes.

If Willander is moved it would be for a very good player. This whole idea of him getting traded along side a mid 1st round pick for a tweener like Pinto or Sillinger is just silly talk. That would be a gross overpayment. It ain't happening.

If that's the price range for that type of return they have every reason to go about things in a different way or check in on other potential targets.

Maybe they can grab someone from Buffalo who have a ton of forwards and could use a shake up in their lineup.

Wild have no need for D at all., wild traded their pick because they have zerio interest in having a pick in this draft. Vancouver has nothing that could interest wild

Is Willander returning to college next year? I could see that being a risk in a trade if he decides to go the UFA route after 4 years.

1st + Willander makes some sense from the Wild’s perspective for Rossi (value is there at least). Only issue is that he’d be blocked from NHL time with Jiricek, Faber, and Spurgeon down the right side. Spurgeon’s contract is up in 2 years though, so the timing makes sense if Willander is still a year or two out from NHL ice time.

I do think it’d be a mistake from the Wild’s perspective though. They’re putting too much trust in Yurov being immediately ready to replace Rossi.

There is an eventual need for a Spurgeon replacement. Although spending more assets seems redundant after giving up a lot for Jiricek already.

27-28 defense would be solid and would have a solid core for the next decade.

Buium - Faber
Brodin - Willander
Middleton - Jiricek

We're forgetting Carson Lambos whose apparently having a good year in iowa and would need room also? He's a 1st round pick who I don't think wild are going to get let go of
