The Victoire PWHL Montreal

I take it when the website did it's update, this thread reverted back to the PWHL Montreal thread title? And a lot of the posts didn't make it? Because there's no way we went from a September post to the next post saying they clinched in March.

Nice! I expect them to expand annually for the next few seasons.

Wouldn't surprise me if Calgary, Detroit, and Pittsburgh getting teams.

I'd be real careful with adding too many teams too fast. It's still a new league after all, they need to make sure it's on solid footings IMO. They're off to a great start, that said.

Looks like it will be next season too, so two new franchises at the same time. It's going to be a good test of the depth of the player pool. They're probably going to make a bigger effort to lure the best euro players to the league.

Minnesota Frost head to the final as they won in OT tonight. They were down 2-0. Then tie it 2-2. Toronto take a 3-2 lead and Minnesota tied them again to force OT.

Minnesota won the Cup last year, and they're off to the finals a second year in a row. Here's hoping Montreal win on Friday to force a Game 5.

I had it in my head that they were losing in the first round. Picking your opponent might not be the best idea.
Also, the team name is so going to be a curse.

Yea, the name will always be pointed at unless they win the whole thing.

While the Victoire had a great season and finished first in the league, the truth is, there isn't a big difference between the teams. Toronto finished 2nd with 48 pts, Ottawa 3rd with 44 pts. Minnesota 4th with 44 pts. And Boston was eliminated with 44 pts.

OTT, MIN & BOS all had 44 pts. One of them didn't make the playoffs. That's how tight it is.

And so far, all 3 of the OTT/MTL games have been 1-goal games (OTT 3 - MTL 2 in Game 1 / MTL 2 - OTT 1 in Game 2 / OTT 1 - MTL 0 in Game 3).
