I was at the game tonight and didn't hear any booing besides the missed calls. Was it coming through on TV?

In my section there might have been a smattering in that segment where the Oilers cycled it high for a minute and didn't end up shooting the puck but it wasn't all that noticeable.
Bouchard was booed 3 times. Pickard was getting sarcastic bronx cheers for good stops in 2nd period. At one in third Oilers team was being boo'ed as Sharks got some of their few zone outs. Just thought it odd, and with Booch particularly its getting regular, shows up even on surround sound and front speakers. Audibly booing him. It wasn't a booch chant. It was the times where he failed to keep puck in. Strangely frustrated crowd today.

In some cases it can be some loudmouths doing the booing but there was on some a vocal contingent doing it.

I quite enjoyed the game. No lack of effort on Oilers part and they did come out with the result inevitably. If this is Colorado they give up on a game like this and all start breaking their sticks in half instead. I appreciate what we got.

The test will come when every player has his book.
Didn't think he was giving up too much obvious and even if he was in this game the team in front of him were giving him negligible help. Sometimes a team as bad as SJ can wreck a goalie confidence but we'll see. Form, skill, fundamentals, flexibility, guy is solid and models his game obviously after Vasi.

What may be lost in all of this is just how bad the officials are again. Some of them like Sutherland are likely washed up drama teachers.

I am out and about, but I took the time to copy and paste Rejeans rant

####ing team horseshoe!! I hate those mother####ing pricks!!!

Now those lucky pricks will win it in OT. That team can't start to fall apart fast enough for my liking.

That piece of #### 2 man team irritates the #### out of me. The team their fans and their media can all #### right off!!!

Sounds like me crying about the goaltending...heh

Yup. The 4x2 for Arvidsson is a far bigger problem than the 1x3 for Jeff Skinner.
Arvidsson just does not look like a very smart or skilled forward. He doesn't drive the net, is small, his impact on a game is minimal, his shots are stoppable. I'm not seeing anything here. I'm confused.

And yet another lesson learned (or maybe not) for the Oilers.

In a league with so much parity you can't take anybody for granted.
What are you talking about? How did the Oilers take SJ for granted lol.

One mistake, Pickard letting in a horrendous goal (which people would be fuming at Skinner about) but otherwise domination from Edmonton

He's not facing much in those game and NEVER anything like the Oilers mount for chances and shots. A hard day for Skinner is 20 shots, making routine saves any good goalie should make and watching his D and forwards clean up all the pucks he leaves laying around.
Less than 5% of the cap spent on goalies, i'll never understand you all. Wouldn't be happy with a goalie unless he had a shutout every night and made 800k

If we have $9Mish to spend at the TDL, which is what we are trending for, neither is a really a problem for this year.
Yes, and so why on earth do some want to spend valuable trade assets to unload Skinner?

It's a nothing point anyway. He has a NMC and will not waive

Grier looked like a disaster in the making with his early GM work. But he's assembled the holy trinity of franchise building with elite centre; prospective 1D; and a cornerstone goaltender. Continue to build around this foundation will be the plan.

More teams are opting for retool over rebuild with the extended years involved with the latter. As well the uncertainty that you can find, draft and develop all the talent required by scorched earth. Add that most markets can't afford empty buildings and market apathy like die hard Oiler loyalists.

His bet on an elite, high pedigree franchise goaltender kept this a nail biter today.

I hope ReJean is close to Foothills so the ambulance can get him to medical attention when the inevitable stroke/coronary occurs. I seriously do.
The Ronald Rejean of CP.

Didn't it used to be a 1 man team over there? Things are looking up Gipper.

I’m an arvi fan but right now he’s less effective than Yamamoto

We also spent on Campbell. its not like we spend nothing on goalies. It isn't even the point. Goalies are the most important variables in hockey A serious contending team is better off having one or two.

Askarov was available. Sometimes you have to wonder what the org is thinking of. just saying.

He got paid to take on useful depth pieces too. Really making a lot of smart moves lately. I am thinking a lot of his early GM struggles were just favors to long time Sharks vets now.

Its sad when the Team is dictating the play, has 40 + shots and barely gets 2 PP. Feels like the refs want to take the special teams out of our games.

The one caveat is he doesn’t want to be benched. It’s a contract year. He wants to play for the next one

We can surely get a pick of some sort for him?
If he waives. And that’s a big if.

What contender wants a $3M under performing non-2-way winger on their team?

And what rebuilder would take him on without getting paid? And why would the oilers pay to free up his cap space when they don’t need the cap space?

You think Nashville would have given us Askarov? (A guy who has played 6 games in the NHL btw) takes two to tango.

Look at the Rags spending 11.5M on Shesterkin and in the toilet. Hellebucyk lit up last playoffs. No guarantees in sport.
