I’m dying to see our A team start playing - especially with ADA in the mix.
This game serves as a reality check that this team still has some major holes and growing to do.
It’s going to take a bit of time, despite the desire to be closer to the more enjoyable side of things.
Didn't see a ton of the game, but expected it to be tough with this lineup.
Not to mention, other than Haley the whole lineup was getting their first game of preseason in. Most of the Devils players were two in.
Reunanen looked solid for a debut. He'll be prominent in Hartford should he play there.
Think Howden saw Andersson's game the other night? Don't think his spot is 100% certain, especially if the minutes are available in the AHL.
I know everyone is just eager and excited after a long summer but the sweeping generalizations after preseason games are always hilarious to me.You commented knowing the personnel that dressed tonight, right?

I know everyone is just eager and excited after a long summer but the sweeping generalizations after preseason games are always hilarious to me.
I commented knowing that:
We’re still playing against the Devils and not a powerhouse
Other teams lineups are also going to get better, tighter and less rusty
Staal, Skjei, and company are still going to struggle against a lot of offenses
Lundqvist is still 37
Our forward group is still incredibly young
We still have a lot of unanswered questions at center
Trouba is not going to have nearly the support he had in Winnipeg’s lineup
Even if young talent takes significant steps forward, that there’s an ebb and flow to their development
That time is still going to be a major factor in traversing the road ahead of us, and that hasn’t changed despite our desire for it not to be.
So, you weren't commenting based entirely, even if partially, on tonight's game.
I think tonight’s game is microcosm of what we will likely see, and not entirely different than some of the struggles we saw in the first preseason game.
The names will change for us, but they will also change for the other teams as well.
"Soon"Yeah I'm curious how this D does when it's fully equipped. Lindy Ruff is going to be the whipping boy here soon.
Lol that’s true I am generalizing the generalizations ha. I didn’t mean you in particular though, I just laugh when we watch a period or two of split squad preseason games and we all start trying to draw conclusions from it. We all do it, I do it and I laugh at myself and try and remind myself its preseason and small samples and Yada yada yada.Which ones do you find most humorous? Or is the irony in making a sweeping generalization about generalizations?JK
Yes. I can agree.
I agree. I think Howden is in trouble.
Does Team C play tomorrow night?
Don’t get me wrong, I get that this isn’t our “A” lineup. But we also aren’t playing against “A” lineups or powerhouses. We just dropped a pair of games to a fellow basement dweller from last season.
It’s going to be a season with a degree of frustration.
More than likely, the Rangers don't make the playoffs. I do like Jersey's chances, though.

We sucked....vets and no names.
Henrik.....ugh
It brings back memories. “Our offensive problems are over! We have Nathan Horton! We now have a defensive stalwart in Jay Bouwmeester! Gudbranson is the next Pronger! Frolik is the next Jagr!” And then reality sets in. Rebuilds are intricate and usually painful — unless you win the Ovechkin, Crosby or McDavid sweepstakes. I just hope we get things right faster than most do.
Was there tonight and Huska looked pretty good. Made a series of terrific saves in the third period. How did Huska look?
