The roster turnover alone is going to take time. Then factor in how young everyone is. Even after any adjustment period, it’s at best an average team, so I wouldn’t get any hopes up.

The defense is and will continue to be a challenge for a while. Because you have to figure that even if guys like Miller and Fox are the real deal, it’s going to take a little while for them to really hit their stride. It’s not fair to expect them to come in and turn this blue line around at 20/21 years old.

Eh. 1 regular defenseman in the lineup and no other guys who were expected to make the team. Depth forwards and AHLers for the most part other than Buch and Chytil. Not a lineup I’d take much out of. Not even many prospects that people are counting on as anything more than a long shot

I can’t say I’ve been surprised by what I’ve seen thus far. I cringed a little when people would talk playoffs and taking the next steps beyond this season.

There’s still a lot of work to be done before either of those two possibilities are on the radar. I have no doubt they’ll get there, I’ve just always felt there’s been there this “push” by fans to have to happen sooner.

I don’t think there’s a full understanding of just how young this team is. I mean this is going to be a REALLY young team the next couple of years.

I’m not sure the regulars on defense are going to be significantly better, especially when you consider that as our regulars work their way into our lineup, the same will be happening with other teams. So that kind of cuts both ways.

And the young forwards, though exciting, are going to have some ups and downs. It’s going to be a process.

Didn't see a ton of the game, but expected it to be tough with this lineup.

Not to mention, other than Haley the whole lineup was getting their first game of preseason in. Most of the Devils players were two in.

Reunanen looked solid for a debut. He'll be prominent in Hartford should he play there.

Think Howden saw Andersson's game the other night? Don't think his spot is 100% certain, especially if the minutes are available in the AHL.
