That really has nothing to do with adjusting. Players try to clear it properly, get pressured and it goes over the glass. That rule is fine.

Of course it does. The players could have adjusted how they attempt to clear the zone in order to lessen the chance of it going over the glass. Based on how many times they still do, it seems most chose not to adjust.
Agreed, the rule is fine

I understand the adjustment, but what's the point of it ? How do these face offs rules improve the game? There was nothing wrong with face offs.

There was a lot wrong. The cheating, creeping up before the puck drop. It was an issue. It is being addressed by a rule-change and they test it during pre-season. I really do not see the issue here.

Those face-off circles are there for a reason

Can someone show me the rule in the book? I've never seen this called before. Not like this.

Rule changes

faceoff infractions - not a rule change as such, referees are now expected to enforce the existing two-minute penalty for improper stance by a player taking a faceoff. This follows an extensive period where players have not been standing with their feet properly placed within the limits of the markings by the dot, with their bodies square to the end boards.

If the Rangers centres didn't spend a fair bit of time practicing for the new rule, they've no-one to blame but themselves and coaching staff, regardless of whether they think the rule is 'good' or not

This could really help faceoff guys with good hand skills and hurt guys with poor ones. The whistles and penalties are annoying but I can understand the reasoning behind the change.

5 mins to go and I haven't heard the name Shattenkirk once.

What's up with that?

The thing is the linesmen have not even been giving the players a chance, with the Vesey one he lined up and then immediately boom, whistle and center tossed and penalty because he had 1 skate in the circle..

I've been officiating for 10 years up to semi-pro level where players are being paid and fans are paying to watch. You at least tell the player to get behind the line first, especially if it's the 2nd draw after you've tossed one centerman. If he's going to be an ass and not listen then fine they deserve what they get, but this is just ridiculous.
