Kids looked great, Smith somehow regressed. All in all, Panarin getting hurt was about the worst case scenario next to Kakko (who appeared to be laboring towards the end). I could care less about the loss, Schneider was basically the difference.

What happened to Panarin I missed it? Fox looked really good, Kakko too. Lias did what I said all summer he would do, get in better shape, work with a skating coach and come back much better, he is a gamer, it's only a matter of time with him before he is a real good NHL'er, kid has heart.

Was hoping for more from Kravtsov to be honest. Didnt notice many of the 3rd or 4th line guys trying to make the lineup outside of McKegg. Crawley is done, Keane is gonna get a real good shot at the right side d I think.

Maybe Keane but Ruenanen will play RD next game too

Is that what it is? I was thinking it didn't seem like his anything with his legs. Thought possibly a groin as well like Bread. I'm sure it's minor but I don't like any of these guys wincing in pain in the preseason.
He was turning and got hit in the lower back, fell down on his belly.

He’s more of a passer and he can play other spots just as well

If you have 2 players that can shoot like that on the PP, you have to utilize that IMO.
Whoever is on the 2nd PP goes against 2nd PK unit which isn't nearly as strong..

Hajek is the most dependable LD currently on the team. People need to keep that in mind when some of us maintain this team isn’t ready yet.
this place is gonna be fun when Staal inevitably gets paired with Trouba

Thoughts:

John Hayden couldn’t look more like he’s from Greenwich, CT if he tried. It’s amazing how that stuff works.

Kakko is unreal. I just can’t believe the type of player we got. We’ve never been this fortunate as a franchise. He’s going to be magnificent.

Kravtsov had a bad game, but you can see the talent. Looking forward to his second game.

Andersson looked really good, which was my biggest sigh of relief tonight. Really funny that there was any chatter whatsoever that he was NHL-ready two years ago. Atrocious scouting - he still gets knocked off the puck regularly. That will come though, and the area that needed the most improvement - his skating and reads so he doesn’t get caught out of the play - looked much improved.

Fox was really good. The poised breakouts remind me of a young Staal.

Shesty looked good, but hang onto your darn rebounds!

McKegg had an awesome game too.

Overall, pretty happy with what I saw tonight!
