I think both of them don't have a future with the organization, simply placeholders at the moment.

I think you need more patience, for under 27 goalie prospects.. Bower would probably say so, too..

1 more year of school for Woll and then the AHL for another 2 years?

Exactly. We have nobody in the goalie pipeline besides Woll, hence these two with jobs. Could develop I suppose, but Bibs hasn't grown at all this year and Sparks isn't an NHL goalie from my viewings. I don't think either one of these guys are serious prospects and if we had better goalie depth they'd be in Orlando. I expect Lou to trade for a goalie prospect at some point.

ATO signed by Orlando, not by the Leafs.

So that's several steps away from being actually affiliated with the Leafs.

Doubtful we'll ever more about him.

..and I predict that Sparks will be gone, before Bibs..

Both are RFA. I don't expect Bibeau to get qualified after a season like this. I am curious to know why you don't think they would keep Sparks though. At worst he's a very good minor league goalie and you can't develop position players if they are getting shelled every night. If they lose him they need to acquire another quality AHL starter so what is the incentive to create the hole in their lineup? Or are you maybe thinking they will be grabbing a goalie prospect that shakes loose in the X draft? That makes some sense, but I think I would need the club to indicate they were looking there before I assumed Sparks is heading out. The only way I see him going is with a better guy being added from the outside. Kaski might stilldevlop some but it would be a potential disaster to go into nest season assuming Kaski/Massa/Bibs will give what Sparks gave this year.

If you watch the actual Marlies games closely, you will see why I take this stance... And if you look at the shots against each game between the two goalies, you will also see that Bibs averages more shots against "almost" each game, than Sparks does.. Sparks is also more of a individual, than a team player..

Off the ice, is where my main concern is though.. and I won't go into details when it hasn't been presented publicly, yet..

Yes.. I think we will sign another goalie prospect in this Draft.. and possibly another free-agent signing..
I would love to see Outhouse come here, if we can't get Pekka-Lukonnen.. (and there was n older, dark-horse goalie signed to the Solar Bears this past week, that I have heard good things about.. Check the Marlies/Prospects video/stats thread in here, last page, for more info..

Honestly, though.., I haven't given up on either of them... There is no room for them right now..., McElhinney has been a great back-up.. and neither Sparks or Bibs have matured/developed enough to be sitting on a bench as back-up most games... Best to keep them both playing for one more season.., imo..

I have said it a million times already, but goalies take longer to develop.. More patience is needed..
....and Leafs Nation is probably the worst with a "lack of patience".., which is where this whole conversation got started yesterday,
with Dark Knight putting down Bibs.., after I posted the latest video..

If last week was amy indicator, this weekend will be very chippy. Wouldn't be surprised to see Clune in the lineup.

 Agreed..!

If I was Keefe, I'd also think about also using Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, ..and/or.. Marc-Andre Cliche..
and definitely play Gudbranson on 3rd D-line, too..

Too late in the season for us to get more major injuries.., from some of these goons on Syracuse..

Bibeau picked a bad time to have his worst year. While its true any goalie has capacity to get better (Talbot was not even a good AHL goalie until 24) the chances of him getting resigned are slim to none if they can go out and roll the dice on a fresh prospect not coming off a shaky year. We'll see but its easiest for the club to cut ties and reload.

I wanted Outhouse last year after he killed it as a backup but the size bias cost him. I still like him, and I am confidant there are still Quicks and Belfours out there. They need to add a couple goalie prospects to their system. As for McElhinney he should be back unless they decide they need someone to push Andersen a bit and look for someone younger who still might have #1 aspirations, like Calgary did with Chad Johnson last year. I am good either way.

So this means that Korostelev moves on.. and Bracco is now available to the Marlies..

Wait... what? Isn't Bracco's team up 3-1? How does that make him available? Plus, being the hosts for the Memorial Cup, doesn't that automatically put them in it... which means he won't be available for some time.

I think he forgot he was traded from Kitchener to Windsor. Bracco is definitely still in it.
