What was Toffoli doing? Erhoff left Perry cause the puck was loose, but Toffoli should have been all over the passer.

That ones on Erhoff. Toffoli was way too far away to cover the middle. Erhoff over committed and got into no mans land. If he stays above the paint, Perry can't get the pass.

Folks the Kings have a philosophy/system in place that is counter to cheating for offense ETC.

Crosby would struggle to score 70+ points in the Kings system. Dial back your expectations, about scoring.

This core wins games (2-1 ,1-0, 3-2) ETC.

It had to be Perry.

God I wish he would have fought Clifford.

Clifford should have fed him his lunch after all the hacking and slashing, they were pissing around for a while before Bieksa joined in. He should have just dropped the gloves and started pasteing him.

Bieksa didn't exactly give Clifford much of a heads up when they went.

we all have our favorite whipping boys guess wish when they have good games people would acknowledge it . I try to with King i believe i posted it a few times last year when i thought he deserved it. Funny i thought just the opposite of his skating but to each there own.

You're not going to get positive feedback by trying to force people to acknowledge Andreoff had a good game. GDT/PGT are for people to post their thoughts and opinions on the game so let it happen organically and you may be pleasantly surprised.

List of invisible players in the preseason:
Kopitar
Carter
King
Nolan
Gaborik
Lucic
Martinez

Bench them all I guess.

hmm how many games has Kopitar gaborik Carter play one maybe two ? I really disagree with Lucic his play is getting better as he settles into a new team Nolan is getting over a ankle injury althou yeah he played like crap tonight Yes Jazz hands has been invisable i agree there. I also seem to recall some good shifts for kopitar gaborik lucic last game where lucic put 2 pucks over the crossbar. It was kings 3rd game at least

The whole team looks lackluster, and dead.

Lewis looks like the only guy ready to go, Veteran wise, maybe Brown as well.

Nope, that was chicken****, he tried to get some shots in before Clifford could square up...

I could have sworn they fought before but I can't find it. So instead, I found something else everyone here will love.

You just described every single veteran on the Kings this whole preseason so far.

Lackluster from Kopitar all the way down.

Brown/Lewis is about the only Vets that have looked decent, hungry ETC. Maybe Lucic tonight.

well maybe from the way you see the game which is fine As stated elsewhere I would say King Nolan and Martinez as veterans disappearing. Pearson Toffoli Clifford all have looked good to me

I'm sorry folks, I cannot for the life of me understand anyone getting worked up in any way about the preseason. 99% meaningless and the 1% is reserved for folks like Weal and Mersch battling their ways onto rosters and guys like Lucic and Ehrhoff learning the team system.

I wouldn't have a problem if the Vets looked sharper.

They look like they have never played hockey in some instances.

After last season, and missing the playoff's, some of the Veterans should look a lot better than they do.

Preseason or not.

Mersch is going to force his way into the lineup, and based on preseason performance, I think Weal and Andreoff may have the edge on Shore, who won't have to go through waivers in order to be reassigned.

Lucic-Kopitar-Gaborik
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
King-Weal-Brown
Clifford-Andreoff-Lewis
Nolan
Mersch

That might be the 14 forwards on the roster come opening night.

Mersch would be better served playing top minutes in the AHL, than sitting in the pressbox for 40 /50 some odd games.

We've been waiting 5 months to get worked up about Kings hockey.

And where or how am i forcing anything more then just stating what i would like to see happen I thought thats apart of what this board is about exchanging ideas. Mr doty please lets not pretend this is my first gdt board. Kings fan will find a negative in anything that is posted its apart of there charm for lack of a better word I have never once denayed a person opinion as long as i am allowed to state mine. Hell i encourage a health debate if anything

Good:

Andreoff and Clifford looked great tonight, both did well.
Mersch - I think he's not quite as ready as the other prospects, but he fits the Kings' style better than them. Still shaky in his zone though.
Enroth - He looked controlled and good back there. Nothing he could do on the first goal.
Pearson - Dude is dangerous.

OK

King - started well, finished kind of blah. He had two great passes to Toffoli early, one of those has to be buried. He looks faster than he did last season, but he didn't finish strong.

Weal - Dangerous offensively, can really pass, but struggles in his own zone.

The Defense - No one looked really good or really bad. Great recovery by Schultz on Perry (but he shouldn't have been caught up in the first place)

Nolan and Lewis had average games.

MIA

Toffoli's finish
Lucic's reaction time
Carter's.... Well just Carter in general
Shore - I wouldn't have known he played except he's in the box score.

I very much agree He wasn't even face to face before He swung at clifford and he should have got the extra 2 mins imo

I was quite partial to this one from an ex King

Can agree with that, Shore hasn't done anything to impress me, but I will fully admit limited viewing. Add that to his waiver eligibility and it's just an easier move to make.

I'm not going to battle with you on this, just take my statement as feedback. Because someone disagreed with you about Andreoff, you immediately went to battle and went back to your old "King is a golden boy" which is 1. a completely unnecessary retort unrelated to Andreoff 2. not true and 3. something we already discussed in another thread. It's becoming trolling because you have this mistaken perception that everyone thinks King is an amazing player and infallible which is as false as it gets.

Plenty of people have had positive things to say about Andreoff. Don't let confirmation bias destroy discussion.

Expected Bieksa to get the extra two for instigating there, but whatever. He got away with a pretty good pick on Doughty, early, too. These should be some spirited games when they meet again later in the season.

The ice looked pretty tough to play on and neither team could put together many passes, which contributed to the sloppiness overall. Mersh was effective in that context... and maybe Weal was less so.

Perry, Kesler, and Bieksa all on the same squad. Everybody is gonna hate the Ducks, not just Kings' fans.

mersch could even do half a season in AHL like shore did last year, and then get the call up? but he's been playing every game which does make one wonder.

there are 32 left in camp and they have to trim it down to 23 still right? 9 cuts to make?

I see dead people...
