Let me tell you about my night. All the freeways must have been empty because the entire population of Los Angeles was inching toward the Griffith Observatory to see the eclipse. From the time we got off the freeway (which was 2 miles away from Griffith Park) to the point where we waved the white flag and got back on the freeway was a total of 3 hours. 3 hours of "driving" for a total of 30 seconds of seeing the eclipse. It was a combination of

and

I wasn't complaining because I got to hear most of the game on the radio (while my car creeped along and a couple of old ladies and a jogger in neon yellow and orange lapped me a few times.) Heard Nick or Daryl say that Mersch is the only prospect to play all the preseason games so far and he was creating some action tonight. Thanks for the first-person info, driller. Can't say how glad I was that Sutter put Tanner and Tyler in the shootout. Brownie with the GWG was sweet.

But we never got out of the car.

That traffic on Los Feliz is brutal (the Los Feliz/Riverside Drive intersection is a portal to hell). I'm always in the slow lane and get caught behind some lady who decides to park or getting stuck behind a trash can.

If you go over to Post 890 on the Colorado GDT, there is a link to the Muzzin hit and the incredible Varly save on Shore in OT taken from a fan who recorded it from the jumbo ton.

could be a blessing in disguise

it'll force us to play one of Forbort/Gravel

or even pick up a D on waivers

maybe even sign one of:

J. Hejda
L. Visnovsky
S. Hannan
K. Cumiskey
T. Gleason
M. Fraser

i'd like to see LA go after Hejda or Cumiskey:

Doughty - Ehrhoff
McNabb - Forbort
Hejda - McBain
Cumiskey
Schultz

:help:

pass on Cumiskey imo. i saw enough of him last spring on the BH's run. totally unreliable in his own D zone. slow reads, loses his man, gets overpowered easily and a TO machine. he wilts under pressure

i would rather see Vis brought back over Cumiskey, or they bring up Forbort

Oh, I thought he was joking. Pretty much every one of those is terrible and we have better in the system so if we're going to suck we might as well do it cheaply and internally. I would have like Hejda 3 or so years ago but every other one is objectively awful at this point in their careers (Vis at least brings some offense).

I've seen worse. Not a great hit but I wouldn't call it overly dirty

Yeah, I watched it a few times and I can barely call that a minor. Maybe he charged hard from offscreen which would make it worse but there's no rule against getting mad and hitting someone. Just an unfortunate result.

So did Muzzin die?
I think I will wait to panic until he goes on LTIR

Well, whatever him and Greene did, it's enough that they need to see doctors today per Rosen, so while it may not be life-threatening, I'd bank on at least one of them not being ready to start the season.

Must have been hell. I was around that area right before sunset so the 5 wasn't too bad when I was passing through that way. Then it was pretty clear around 830 pm northbound heading back home. Needless to say I missed most of the game on the radio cuz I was out of the car most of time. The good and the bad of things I guess.

Reminder that tomorrow's game against the Ducks will be televised, as will the Frozen Fury game on Saturday.
