Man, too bad it's already a Ducks vs Flames vs Oilers WCF confirmed or I could take some small solace in this huge victory during our plunge into the standings abyss

Well, they won a game in all three situations. Regulation, OT, and SO.

Should I open a PGT to get the routine going? :D

Nolan doing the dirty work, mersch with the goal. First shot blocked, got a lucky bounce and buried it backhand.

that's mersch's game; he waits in the crease for opportunities, screens, and knocks them in. he did that in manchester last season too.

i didnt get to watch tonight so didnt get to see how guys looked. how was shore? andreoff?

Mersch is working awful hard to stay on the roster, but not a lot of room on the left side for him.

well it's not as if Dwight King is a must on the LW

i doubt he'll be any more or any less efficient on C, RW, D, or even G lol

Lucic - Kopitar - Gaborik
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
Mersch - Shore/Weal - Brown
Clifford - Lewis - King
Nolan

Why not dump Clifford? He contributes even less.

Don't we have a phantom OT win ?
So I say we have 8 points in 4 games.
If you take away the illegal goal on Friday we have at least 9 points in 4 games. Try to do that in the regular season.

I wanted to go...I was up in the mountains and have wanted to hike St Mary's Alice
Glacier for the last few years, so went for it....and I got a late start...made it to the Glacier at 4 and got back to my car
from the hike back down at 5:20. Drive to Pepsi Ctr from there would be about 6 PM...
but there was traffic coming down the I70 from people who went to the mountains
during the weekend. Oh well. Ii could have made it there for the second period on, but went to a bar to see if they would put it on and they had all 100 screens with the
Bronco game..Ii asked if they could put the AVS game on 1 screen and they wouldn't!

I just took that goal as a realistic simulation of how we lost games last year as prep for this year

I was more surprised it didn't go off the glass behind the net first or that maroons stick didn't make someone tall like Forbort bleed at the same time

Mersch Lewis Brown
clifford Weal King

Shore can clear waivers and becomes Regin #1 c and is first call up

They played a replay of the Muzzin injury. Comeau got absolutely rocked by Doughty's hip check entering the zone and was looking for blood. He lined up Muzzin and left his feet to make the hit. Not the worst hit I've ever seen and he didn't target the head, but still left his feet. Doubt he gets suspended, but a penalty would have been warranted.

Greene didn't play the second part of the 2nd period nor any in the 3rd. He was dressed and on the bench though.

We should have absolutely ended the game in the OT. We had 5 or so grade A chances but couldn't bury it, including a Gaborik partial breakaway, a Carter breakaway, a Carter shot from 10 ft uncontested in the slot, and Shore's shot-- Varly was down and out after a scramble and doing snow angels. The overhead camera showed he put his paddle on the goal line and pretty much prayed. The puck squirted to Shore who blasted it from 2 ft out… right into the prone stick. Ugh…

Soderberg probably had the best missed chance for the Avs in the 2nd. Quick was down and out and came across hard with a 2 pad stack, but he still had half the net to shoot at. Luckily he shanked it over the net.

Hoff was my MVP. Played a boat load of effective minutes and was very noticeable. DD was half assing it most of the game, but when he applied himself he looked dominant. Schultz was steady as well as Martinez.

We also dominated the 3rd. Probably the only period where domination on the shot clock was reflective of the domination on the ice and Grade A chances.

The Avs goal bounced in off a Kings defenseman. Typical...
