They played a replay of the Muzzin injury. Comeau got absolutely rocked by Doughty's hip check entering the zone and was looking for blood. He lined up Muzzin and left his feet to make the hit. Not the worst hit I've ever seen and he didn't target the head, but still left his feet. Doubt he gets suspended, but a penalty would have been warranted.
Greene didn't play the second part of the 2nd period nor any in the 3rd. He was dressed and on the bench though.
We should have absolutely ended the game in the OT. We had 5 or so grade A chances but couldn't bury it, including a Gaborik partial breakaway, a Carter breakaway, a Carter shot from 10 ft uncontested in the slot, and Shore's shot-- Varly was down and out after a scramble and doing snow angels. The overhead camera showed he put his paddle on the goal line and pretty much prayed. The puck squirted to Shore who blasted it from 2 ft out… right into the prone stick. Ugh…
Soderberg probably had the best missed chance for the Avs in the 2nd. Quick was down and out and came across hard with a 2 pad stack, but he still had half the net to shoot at. Luckily he shanked it over the net.
Hoff was my MVP. Played a boat load of effective minutes and was very noticeable. DD was half assing it most of the game, but when he applied himself he looked dominant. Schultz was steady as well as Martinez.
We also dominated the 3rd. Probably the only period where domination on the shot clock was reflective of the domination on the ice and Grade A chances.
The Avs goal bounced in off a Kings defenseman. Typical...
