If DD is out long term then this season just got a whole lot more interesting. At the very least it means a stay of execution-by-Ontario for Clarke for a few months and Spence getting actual real PP minutes, both of which are very good things. It could turn what was going to be a black hole season into something that’s actually useful for the future.

Was the game. Byfield was on another level.

Turcotte looked great. Woolley and George looked awesome for two kids basically.

Jeannot is nasty out there - right off the start throwing his body around.

Burroughs eats a lot of minutes. Was impressed. Can play in all situations. I have a feeling he will be unsung hero this year.

Spence looks good also. Played 27 minutes.

Sad story is the Kings RHD was a strength two seasons ago with Faber, Durzi and Walker.

Now, all they have in terms of prospects is Mania who in my opinion has not impressed in camp.

Looking thru the depth pool I only see Burroughs and Walsh as RHD.

Justin Schultz is still a UFA. He shoots R.
Honestly I think Kyle Burroughs is a better D than Schultz at this point.

And I actually have been a big fan of Schultz through-out his career.

Fingers crossed Drew is only out for 2 or less months.

Maybe they’ll snag someone off waivers to help on the PP. Perunovich maybe?
Like the player, but Perunovich cannot seem to stay healthy. I think he sticks with the Blues as Krug is out for the year and they probably need someone on the point for their PP2 setup as Faulk will look to run the first unit.

Pretty irresponsible for a doctor to speculate like that without looking at any imaging.
That’s what he does. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t see anything wrong with him providing his opinion based on what he knows from his training and sees on the video. He’s been right a number of times about the type and extent of injury based on the mechanics of the injury, including Byfield’s ankle injury a couple of years ago.

They're gonna use Clarke on the PK as LHD and Spence PP1, Burroughs PP2.

Don't even know if I"m joking any more. Hopefully Hiller isn't this guy but until proven otherwise this is what we've seen over the years.
I do think that they’re going to chain Clarke to Edmundson no matter what since they signed him specifically for Clarke’s protection. I’m expecting Burroughs to play on the 2nd pair and Englund to sub in for Clarke in games where they think they need an extra face puncher for no reason. Maybe he’ll get cleanup duty of the last 30 seconds of power plays on the 2nd unit.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for DD. Reading this, are you guys lacking faith in Clarke or just how the management views/uses him?

I just think it's the presentation of his opinion.

It's only in a subsequent tweet, after putting the worst case scenario (that people may not see or read) that he says "after seeing it more..."

Imagine a doctor taking a glance, speculate someone either had a fainting spell or a stroke, and then follow up with "oh, after looking at it more, it's probably not a stroke."

I just expect him, if he's going to offer an informed opinion, to watch something multiple times so he could say with more definition and confidence what he thinks happened. His first tweet/post was anything anyone else could have done.

That's just my opinion though.
