It's so clear to me that they have to overhaul their whole powerplay strategy.

First they have to play with 2 defensemen at the point. One set up guy , one shooter. Go back to basics.

The whole "I skate up to the red line, turn my back and pass back" on every single pp transition also has to stop. Even Hutson did it tonight.

I'm not totally against the back pass but it's done so slowly because of the pivot that it only helps the other team.

Anyway the pp was a carbon copy of last season...probably even worse.

Hutson may help but the general pp plan has to be scrapped and rethought.

Tempted to say it needs a corner/boards/front of the net menace, like a Claude Lemieux (dreaming) but with what the Habs have on board now, the PP should at least be average.

If it could be average, then the team could be ‘in the hunt’ in March, IMO.

This is why you don't rely on X for revenge, you hire your own scrubs on PTOs
