Almost every veteran we've had, Staal and Girardi included, didn't give their all in preseason games. That's perfectly normal.

Have to imagine the potential of getting the C would make him give out a proper effort, even if it's a preseason game.

Of the current options I prefer Trouba, and that isn't changing based on this game...

Tinordi and Bitteto did nothing to help their cause and Nemeth has cracked the door for someone else, i think theyve already made their mind up on Lundkvist otherwise I'd be saying he cracked the door a bit too.

The only line that's even looked half decent on a consistent basis is the Chytil line. Fox looks like Fox. And Laf had a good shift. Otherwise:

Our veterans who are trying to make the team, other than Hunt, have not looked great. Tinordi, Nemeth, Bitetto, Gauthier -- all kinda blah.

Cuylle and Lundkvist look overmatched. The thing with Nils -- he needs to show he can play D at this level. He's running around way too much. I want to see what Schneids and Robertson look like this preseason.

Barron has been ok, but not particularly impactful.

Rempe is hitting. And seems to be getting on opponents decently. But not much else yet.

Georgy looked pretty mediocre.

Just a boring game really.

Unlike players that aren't goalies who need to learn the system and need to play with good linemates a goalie doesn't have this issue in preseason, just stop the puck. Plus he just f***ing sucks. We know this from last season. Below average backup goalie.

Honestly Barry Trotz destroying this franchise even in the preseason. Looks like we'll get shutout in half our games against them this year again

I mean I think this *might* be a bit of an over reaction. Honestly can’t take anything without Panarin and Trouba in the lineup seriously.
