I think they do it if the stories call for it. There kind of isn’t history to be made in that vein anymore once they did it a second time, and the first being 1v1. Steve Austin returning was definitely more important.
If they do tag titles and Roman Cody in the two main spots, where would you personally put Rhea Vs. Charlotte? Opener for day one? I think Rhea should have the third best moment.

I’d open with Charlotte & Rhea. There’s nothing there story wise that calls for a main event spot.
That’s where I think I would put them. Rhea going over Charlotte with a fresh crowd that has been waiting weeks if not months for the day.

There hasn’t been anyone spoon fed an opportunity of a lifetime like this. Guy essentially had 3-4 matches and now will win the title against the greatest champion arguably ever.

Why? Because his dad was a good wrestler and was a significant part of NXT?

There’s legitimately zero story.

That’s fair, monday could be decent.

Friday will probably be somewhere no one knows with piped in noise and zero emotion.
SmackDown is in Evansville, Ind. this Friday.

Fantastic ppv. Really enjoyed all of the matches. I didn’t care for the finish to the main event but realistically they were never giving Sami that win. There’s gotta be a better way for them to have that result without overbooking the shit out of it. Either way, i was entertained for 3+ hours. That’s a win

Not sure what the purpose of Brock v Bob was
My favorite part of the main event finish was something that I've always found hilarious but especially egregious in this instance.

Uso running in and screwing Sammy with the ref trailing right behind him and then going straight to count a pin fall rather than the obvious DQ.

Maybe I've never noticed it before but I always felt it was never quite as silly as that, where the interference happens right in front of the ref but gets ignored.

I was wondering that too. Maybe because the ref wasn’t in the ring yet he can’t make that call?

Or one segment on Dynamite the Acclaimed get a title shot cause rematch clause, yet The Elite in another segment same show tell AR Fox and Top Flight it’s back to the line. Wrestling shows know we can’t do shit about it and will be back next week despite things routinely making no sense or things blatantly contradicting one another.

That’s the beauty of it all. They have total control over it and can (and do) make it all up as they go if they choose to.

It does get a little annoying at times. I agree

Yup. The answer is don’t watch. Both big companies here do it shamelessly and I am not going out of my way to find other content.

I think the attitude era was the silliest with ref stuff. One week you would get finishes like we got.

Another week you have 2nd refs coming down to tell the 1st ref something happened and to either restart the match or something.

f*** some weeks they reversed a decision when someone cheated.

It always annoyed me how inconsistent they were about that

I f***ing hate the stupid ref syndrome but I realize it is absolutely integral to what they do and they cannot exist without it. They cannot have clean finishes all the time and stupid ref syndrome is largely how they get there.

Stupid refs is what it is. The face knowing the ref is knocked out and still going for the pin will always be the stupidest.

Should go to Canada more often.

Montreal is the best wrestling city in North America.
But isn't part of the reason that they don't go there that often? Non-US crowds are usually hotter because of that I think. Not just that, but I think it's a big factor.

It very well could be, but the fact that they go decades without a PPV in Canada is kind of a joke. They should get one every two years at least.

Even one a year. There are enough strong wrestling cities in Canada to keep each one fresh. You could do one a year in Canada and Montreal might get 1 every 5 years. They’d still draw huge numbers

The crowds in Montreal are always good but this past week is more of a one off than the norm. Sami is the hottest wrestle in WWE and he was in his hometown. Of course the crowds would be buzzing more than usual.

Also and this plays into it was Elimination Chamber was one of the best PPVs in a long time. Every match on the card delivered. Easy for crowds to be white hot when it is a great match.
