I was at an xmas party and missed the game, how'd we play?

I re-watched the game without the intermissions. Saros is very athletic, moves side to side real well, challenges the shooters outside the blue paint and on close plays he's hard to beat down low with quick pads. That's where a lot of our top guys seemed to be shooting on close-in net plays so that's why they couldn't beat him. The Preds blocked some dangerous shots, a couple of note by Stu.

JBD and Cousins found Saros's weak spot... high blocker side.

Ullmark was on top of his game and was solid the whole game. He played like the goalie we thought we were getting. He too challenged shooters and one stands out in particular a near breakaway slapper. He also wasn't fooled and stuck to his post on a sneaky goal line attempt from the side of the net. He got lucky a couple of times with falling bodies in front of his net and made a great toe save on one close in play.

The Sens held most of the play and deserved the win.

Where has that Greig been? The guy was all over the ice, physical all game, challenging dmen with his speed and hands, drawing penalties and pissing people off. He had his best game of the season last night, hopefully he keeps it up.

Need to find a way to get Stutzle on the ice in the last few minutes. He is a killer with the oppositions net empty. Has made some great plays to seal games this season.

I know, understandable with Gaudette on the line, and the other two lines playing well. I still think you need to find a way to get Stutzle out there. Cousins spot on the 3rd line for example. Not as critical in a game with 3 and 2 goal leads in the last few minutes. Need your difference makers to be on the ice in high leverage points of the game though.

If you are going to play Stutzle with offensive players that you don't trust in the last few minutes of a game, need another way to get him out there.

I think Forsberg will always play on B2B games. There are 4 of them this month. I expect Forsey to get NYI, Penguins, Wild, toss-up between Edmonton/Vancouver. It sucks that some of those B2B are against playoff teams.

That was a fun game to be at. When the Preds almost scored a second goal when it got behind Ullmark I fully believed we were going to collapse. Glad it didn't go in though. Was nice to see JBD and Giroux get back on the goal column.

Didn't know it was going to snow as much as it did after the game. Took me 5 hours to get back to Toronto because of the roads and being stuck behind a snow plow on a one lane highway. Lesson learned to check the weather.

It was either the Preds game or the one next Saturday against the Pens. I figured traffic would be a nightmare (in particular getting out of the lot) for the Pens game since they're a hot ticket with Crosby and the rest of the superstars they have so more people would attend. So I elected to go to the one last night.

Probably should have waited until next week because of the crap weather (in Kanata. Toronto was fine) I'm just glad we won.

This is a Forsberg loss. Just play Ullmark back to back. He's rolling and Forsberg is totally unreliable.
