That game is just an absurd amount of bad luck and getting “goalie’d” BUT - you can’t not get at least a point in this game. Halak gifting them a goal a few minutes in didn’t help.

You get a 4 minute PP late in the game down 1, how do you not tie it?

Only problem is we always seem to get goalied, a couple times a year its a hot goalie, 2 times a week its on the players

I'm not one to overreact but they keep missing these opportunities to get points when they seem to outplay other teams, especially bottom teams. They have now lost to Nashville, Columbus, San Jose, and have lost 2 goal leads against the Piles and Red Wings recently when those teams were on the second night of a B2B. It's not working. They need to make a coaching change before it gets away from them.

Not that this is a big issue right now but Miller would be better at getting shots through on pp2

would have been nice considering 4 min minor and you knew Trouba would be on for probably 60-90 sec of it. Miller would be much much better option.

Cover CK 100% of the time, block the seams even if you have to leave the shooter open, and let everything else go (point shots, Panarin wrist shots, Trocek high slot shots) is the key to keeping our PP under control. A shot might sneak through here or there, but not at the 25-30% clip of yesteryear, closer to 10-15% aka a shitty rate.

Need to get Mika cleaner looks, rotate him to the bumper occasionally, and maybe a point bomb from him too here and there, same for Panarin. Spice it up a bit. Play Fox like a forward too, he loves dipping down low and has great vision so move him around too, and not only when the puck is on his stick. Need to change things up a bit.

Seriously think about the tear the team is going to need to go on during the 2nd half of this year to stay in the playoff hunt. I've said it before but it is going to have to be something like a .800 winning pct for a sustained period. I not sure they can play better either. They have played well enough to win.
