Mckenzie saying what I've been saying since the start of the OHL season. Marner and his overpassing will piss you off.

I guess everybody needs something to complain about...Marner has 58 points in 25 games and sniped one home today...if the only thing that pisses people off about Marner is that he overpasses then so be it.

Dermott was meh...bad transition game
Not a fan of Mckeown ...he look avg.

Lauzon was ok..tough to gauge as he only got 5 vs 5 vs a bad team and with Mckeown.

Fleury-Chabot looked amazing

Offense: Chartier-Virtanen-Crouse dont bring much...

I might offend some Van fans...but Virtanen should be a 3rd or th4th liner on this team..

Marner-Beauvillier-Gauthier-Konecky are better wingers than him

McKeown blows, you're right.
And as Van fan I agree on Virtanen. Play smart or check on the third line.

Yep, (didn't watch the whole game) but didn't see him make mistakes defensively, made few good plays with the puck.
His role just seems to be completely different to his role with his Q team.

It's pretty noticeable. Mckenzie said a lot of the scouts were noticing it too in the Super Series. It's still impressive with the number of offensive opportunities he can generate, but still, when you have a clear cut chance and you elect to drop pass to the less talented guy behind you, it's gonna piss off some onlookers who'd prefer you to shoot.

You guys are completely over-analyzing this game jesus. First of all good thing is Crouse just has a bruise and Point appears to be fine as well according to Mark Masters. That game could easily of been 20-0...the refs called a few ghost penalties in the 2nd which took away Canada's momentum. It's hard to gauge their performance against a team that weak..tomorrow will be much better. Remember Canada lost their first pre-tournament game last year then won gold...we just won 7-1 everybody chill out..

I kind of am, they didn't generate much in terms of chances in the 2nd and 3rd period.

Relative to the competition they played. Should have had 12-13 goals.

They won 7-1 in an exhibition game, I'm sure they were told to take it easy after the first. Not like the game mattered in any way.

Well, looks like Marner and Virtanen suck. I mean, it's not like this is a meaningless game against Belarus or anything...

Marner is an OHL superstar and Virtanen is an NHLer. These guys don't care about some pointless exhibition game. All I can do is shake my head at those criticizing them.

Virtanen... a fourth liner?

I think you're wrong about this. Not only that, but I doubt their teammates who in this hypothetical situation would be all that happy about anyone not giving a **** while others are giving it their all. I think this is a comment made by someone who doesn't know what it is like to be part of a highly competitive team.

In reality, I don't think Marner was playing indifferent or lazy. I think he was feeling things out. It's a new team, new system, they need to gel.

The only guy that deserves some questioning is Crouse. He didn't look good, in my opinion. Everyone else was fine, relatively. So much hubbub over nothing.

You don't know anything about me. I'd be willing to wager that I've played a higher level of hockey than you've ever played in your life. Coming from personal experience, the pace of the game changes significantly from the first exhibition game until the time the puck drops on a meaningful outing.

If you don't think veteran players or "locks" take their foot off the gas pedal, during exhibition games, you're being naive. This happens at every level, including the NHL and the Olympics. Virtanen himself learned this lesson in the NHL.

Lol what, calm down guy

Nobody cares about your hockey "career"

For some reason I still can't get tsn videos to play, even after making an account and troubleshooting it, and using three different browsers. If anyone finds any non tsn highlights I'd appreciate it.

Yeah maybe the big guys did.

But the guys on the bubble should have kept pressing on making their case for the team, I don't think anyone did unless you considered Perlini or Konecny bubble guys.

Virtanen looks night and day different defensively then last year.

Also hell of a game, i love how players bounced off him hilarious

This is a point I mentioned in the Canada roster thread and got a few skeptical looks from other posters. There's already a bit of a disconnect right now since Strome, Marner and the others were in the press box watching the rest of their team battle hard in the CIS games. The "we are all in this together" mentality gets lost when part of the team is battling hard to earn a spot on team Canada and the other part (the more talented part) is coasting along and watching them from the sidelines with a guaranteed spot handed to them.

Not only was the work ethic inconsistent across lines, but considering Strome and the others haven't played in game action for a couple weeks, you could just tell things were off with the guys that are supposed to make up the major parts of the team.

Lmao reading this thread cracked me up. I focused on JV every shift and he was all over the ice, people will hate on players for no reason.

Insane. I remember this with domi a few years back

True but Domi is so much more of a cerebral player.

Is this real life. Did you even watch the game lolol

Virtanen had 5 hits 1 g 1 a 3 takeaways and is a +3.

I don't think you need a tsn account to watch them, but you need a go account with your cable provider. I signed up for that with eastlink over a year ago but I can't really remember how.

Actually now that I log out of my account and try to play a video you don't need the sign in to watch the videos just live games and the tsn channels online, you should be able to watch the videos without it. So it must be something else that's your issue.
