It's all over. Time to become a basketball fan. End of the line.

:cry::sarcasm::)

My spirits will be lifted quite a bit if the Jets can win an opening game for the first time.

Coach Noel - Discussing the loss. Top priority over next three days? Mistakes team is making. Did last two games make it easier to make the next cuts?

The Score app tells me that the Jets only managed 13 shots on goal, including 4! from Stuart and 3 from Frolik.

The recap on the Jets' site says they got 20. Not much more, but a little better at least.

Well I had some beer and 2 giant home made beef, bean and cheese burritos with salsa (made that too). I went to put my son down to sleep and dozed off myself. My wife tried to wake me up and I asked the score, she said 2-0 Bruins. I then heard the the 3rd goal from upstairs in my son's room...so I got up, went to our room and fell face first into my pillow clothes and all...

Just woke up and...5-0 eh?
Well that is a good ole fashion beat down fail train effort. :shakehead

Jets better break out the big boy undies today...it is for real now.

I fell asleep after the first period and missed the ret of the game.

There is a God.

So happy that real hockey starts now!

Jets are still on track for a undefeated season with zero losses in the regular season.

#NHLJets head coach Claude Noel said it was a cramp that locked up in Byfuglien's leg. "He's fine."

Well GJF, keep in mind that for us Winnipeggers last night was a steaming cauldron of sporting fun what with the Jets loss and the Bombers receiving another brutal ass-kicking at our brand new football stadium. It was sort of a perfect storm of bad vibes last night...

That said, I'm not prepared to totally write off the pre season performance. Wins and losses don't matter, but for me its the fact that the patterns look so much like previous seasons for this team that has me concerned...poor starts, giving up quick goals immediately after scoring, bad line chemistry...etc, etc...

But, the Jets have three days in Banff to fix all that so no worries! :yo:

:laugh::laugh: I pretty much avoided the thread last night. Plan to start the day with a stroll through the blood and gore.

Well them I'm feeling with you guys I'm also slightly teed off when Arsenal gets a beating

I just don't want this board to become like this. That's not something I'd like to hang out on for my Jets. And I'm pretty sure most of you don't want this. I loved this board because it was a place where I had the feeling people have a good knowledge about this Sport and this team with good views on it, both in a positive, "fanish" AND objectively criticizing way. That's why it was an easy adjustment for me from the Thrashers to the Jets board. People just left and a new wave of people came. I had the fear that they'd be like Maple Leafs fans. They would want everything and they would want it NOW, now matter what. But it was different. I don't want to loose this. I'm proud to say that I'm a german hockey fan that loves the JETS and not the Pens, Hawks, Red Wings or Bruins. It may not be the best team in hockey but it has the most likeable team, franchise, city and especially fans.

Wins and loses in the preseason really have no reflection on how the team will perform in the regular season. Nor does it give any insight to how individual players will perform when the show starts.

I've actually often noticed that when teams lose in preseason they seem to come out of the gate with more intensity... of course I have no proof of this...

I feel like most players do use this as a chance to shine, those same players, will play hard. It was most of Boston’s depth guys scoring last night, guys that likely will not make the team. I didn't hear Iggy, Eriksson, and Marchand... Chara? I’m sure they were all held pointless. Point is, if you know you've made the team by the 8th preseason game, then who cares?
