Well them I'm feeling with you guys I'm also slightly teed off when Arsenal gets a beating

I just don't want this board to become like this. That's not something I'd like to hang out on for my Jets. And I'm pretty sure most of you don't want this. I loved this board because it was a place where I had the feeling people have a good knowledge about this Sport and this team with good views on it, both in a positive, "fanish" AND objectively criticizing way. That's why it was an easy adjustment for me from the Thrashers to the Jets board. People just left and a new wave of people came. I had the fear that they'd be like Maple Leafs fans. They would want everything and they would want it NOW, now matter what. But it was different. I don't want to loose this. I'm proud to say that I'm a german hockey fan that loves the JETS and not the Pens, Hawks, Red Wings or Bruins. It may not be the best team in hockey but it has the most likeable team, franchise, city and especially fans.

...awe... *melts heart*

....Come here you big lug!

but seriously, yah i know what you mean.

And to be fair (even for the maples leafs) your going to get those incredibly noisey negative nellies. And they may not even always be negative nellies, just emotional reactionary fans.

It's best just to ignore them, especially given the circumstances you said (the whole griping when they can't even see what's happening is a ridiculous).

The good news is the Stanley Cup Runner Up Bruins are in the Eastern Conference! :)

The bad news is the Stanley Cup Champion Hawks are in our Division. :(

Oh man, tonight is gonna be awesome!!! My 9 year old son is through the roof with excitement and so is the old man! Even the fact it's pre-season I'm just pumped to the see the Jets live...this game is a big deal in our household!

Can't wait to scream out TRUE NORTH with the boy and enjoy the game. 12,000 out of 15,000 tickets sold for the game so it won't be sold out but better attendance than Calgary-Ottawa last week. The over 40 crowd is tilted Bruins but under 40 is predominantly Jets fans so will be nice inter-generational battle in the stands. Gonna get some fierce Jets chants going. My boy wants to try to get inside Tukka's head if he plays tonight.

GO JETS GO

OT- I emailed the Jets via their website asking about autographs but the team flies in this afternoon and then leaves for Banff right after the game so no luck. However, Scott Brown emailed me back to explain all this with a lengthy reply that wasn't expected but certainly appreciated. Props to TNSE for timely and classy replies to fan inquires!

I give you my condolences.

So glad we are done with the pre-season now. Now we don't have to sit here and wonder whether or not to take every action that is made by the players and coaches with a grain of salt or not. It all counts for real from here on out. :handclap: :yo:

My cousin played for Arsenal , he's retired now but I think there is a statue at the stadium so he isn't forgotten :)

Fun time last night, truly a great experience to see the players up close and see the kid so excited.

The game sucked for the Jets. The first 10 minutes of the 1st was tough hockey to watch and, quite honestly, was sloppy, sloppy hockey by the Jets. The execution in the offensive zone was completely non-existent. LLW showed consistent good pressure and, after that, it was only highlighted by a few rushes by Frolik and Kane.

Scheifele got knocked off the puck consistently. He looks bigger but does not play bigger. He could not finish on a feed by Frolik in close. Enstrom was also disappointing, he got knocked around every puck battle and missed alot of his passes when the Jets were on the PP. Buff was commanding on a few plays and didn't really lose any races but he left the game due to an injury to his leg I think. Trouba looked like Buff-lite on one rush but he coughed up the puck twice and got man-handled on the first Bruins goal 26 seconds into the game.

Montoya was actually good given all the free shots the Bruins got...so many second chances the Jets failed to clear away. And Stuart looks obsolete. By far the slowest Jet out there and was outplayed by Pardy.

sigh...I think it may be long year. However, I don't think Noel will have to endure the season as long as the rest of us.

Some of you "fans" are sounding more and more like Toronto fans everyday.

We don't need the likes of you here.

i live in toronto.
toronto fans think that the Leafs are gonna win the Cup every f'ing year.
not sure what you think Leaf fans are like, other than their heads resembling blocks of Black Diamond cheddar

I agree with this. Toronto fans could never be this disloyal. They are steadfast diehards through and through. We could actually take a page out of their book. However, and i repeat however, i do like the realism we bring to our fandom.

The sky is falling isn't realism, its pessimism.

I know I sound like a broken record but the truth is there's a reason to be hopeful this season because we do indeed have a shot! Do some thinks really need to fall in place? Yes, mostly Schiefele becoming the 2nd line center we need, and the defensive core staying mostly healthy. Can things go wrong? Certainly, namely the exact opposite of what I said.

I just wish the same arguments weren't getting repeated over and over and over again on this board. We all have our opinions, and discussion is great. But its definitely not as fun when a group of people are constantly trying to disguising pessimism as realism.

Just my 2 cents anyways.

There's a lot of people talking about negatives that I really don't see? I see a lot of low hut reasonable expectations, a lot of high but reasonable expectations and maybe o e or two each on the wrong g side of unreasonable expectations. It feels like were all mad at a boogeyman that's actually pretty easy to ignore. There's actually even a button for it.
