Preseason and this islanders team is stout defensively. Boring games to come against this team. They need to keep the kid line together and make the. 2nd line. Have panarin play with kreids and zib.

Only Kakko showed any urgency along the boards in the last 3 min. Why is it just Kakko looking like he cares?

This team has a lot to work through to figure out chemistry up front.

But I am encouraged by the D overall in terms of their ability to move the puck.

The forwards overall just can't seem to do all the little things that they will need to do to be a playoff team -- d zone coverage, win a draw when they need to, create a consistent forecheck. Find a way to get inside. It's clearly just going to take time here. Unfortunately the PP looks like hot trash right now so we may not have that to save us from bad 5v5 at the start of the season this year.
