I don’t see any reason why Buffalo should even consider an offer from the Rangers for Owen, because there’s no one in all of NY who could change the situation in Buffalo by 180 degrees. Power is obviously a valuable asset, and if he's traded, it should only be for a forward of the caliber of Marner or Point. And even then, it wouldn’t help, as even wingers like Reinhart and Skinner (sorry), and centers like Eichel and O'Reilly couldn’t get the team into the playoffs. Therefore, Buffalo has no reason to touch their defensive leaders. They should just trade Cozens at the right time and focus on adding experienced players who could help develop Power, Benson, Helenius, and Quinn (while it’s not too late..). And in a couple of years, they’ll make the playoffs...
