maybe Avs look at this deal as a way to clear out some cap for Seth Jones knowing they would lose Raantanen to UFA, just shift those dollars to Seth for 5 years, maybe some retained money for long term dollars go to Chicago to make it work

I like how the talk was of Hall getting moved and a third team being involved has morphed into us being the third team and Hall being a likely ancillary part of an overall larger trade.

Would be interesting if that's the case. I wonder if the Hawks can essentially "buy" a 2nd or if we get really lucky, a 1st round pick out of it.

Eh… hopefully more than a third. Gotta get as many chances as possible, I know, but that’s in the wishful thinking/dumb luck area of the draft.

Hasn't been announced, but sounds like it. Pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things. You'd hope for a 5th or something for that though.

My guess is there wasn't much need for Hall around the league.

You would hope to get a 3rd for Hall, a 2nd is dreaming IMO. So we get our own 3rd instead of CAR 3rd for retaining on him. Makes sense to me.
