This is what I would do:

Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Newhook
Kapanen-Dach-Caufield
Heineman-Dvorak-Armia
Gallagher-Evans-Anderson
Pezzetta, Condotta

Matheson-Guhle
Hutson-Savard
Struble-Barron
Xhekaj

Montembeault
Primeau

Roy goes down to ramp his game back up; Xhekaj, Struble and Barron do a rotation. Primeau only makes it over Dobes due to waivers and slow cooking Dobes as a goalie.
There might be some heat if they go with Heineman instead of Roy, but going by pure merit that's absolutely the right call. Roy didn't show anything to justify starting the season with the big team right away and Heineman did.

I came here to say that this is how the line up should look like. Roy need more time in the AHL. He was invisible. Was he worst then newhook or anderson? not by much, but unlike the other two, you can really help him improve by getting 1st line ice time in the AHL...

MSL wont break the 1st line for the few games, so i think the 2nd line will be
Slaf - suzuki - CC
Armia - dach - newhook
Heineman - Dvo - Kapanen
Gally - Evans - Anderson

Most likely, if they gave full effort down there. Gallagher I would think would be one of the best players in the AHL and Anderson would be solid too.

Anderson doesn’t even give full efforts in the NHL. I’d be surprised if he even showed up to his AHL assignment.

That's textbook case for contract termination without player approval.I doubt Anderson is going to leave his millions like that.

He didn't f*** up his preseason enough to be waived anyhow. This was the worst preseason I've ever watched in 20+ years of being a Habs fan, but it's not on Anderson or Gallagher. It's all on MSL and the coaching staff we have imho. It will show on Wednesday.

When Yo-Elle went down he was above PPG and he had 6 goals in 8 games. He was too strong for the league.

You would think that Gallagher and Anderson would have a similar production but Yo-Elle is infinitely better than those two scrubs.

Which year recently did we start the preseason 0-5? 2017? I think that one was the worst for me but this one just made completely uninterested in the regular season.

kind of amazing how that 1 injury made the top 6 go from decent to bad :(
It think it's more the underwhelming games from the depth NHL players that followed the injury that made everyone realize this team had no depth.

I was laughing when RDS play-by-play commentators were trying to execuse Dvorak's poor showing as him still shaking off the rust...in his 4th pre-season game. He's still going to be "shaking off the rust" in November my dear commentators.

I would love to dumb Andersson to laval. Nobody will pick him on waivers. I just cant stand style he is playing. No any effort or trying. He just dont give a f*** for playing here.

Yeah but best scorer. o_O

Gaudet had 44 goals and Mavrick had 51 assists to lead the league in scoring last season.
Anderson just forget it not a chance and if Gallagher manages to score 40 some odd goals he has never been an assist guy.

The top scorers in the AHL last year were Mavrik Bourque, Adam Gaudette and Rocco Grimaldi. I'm not sure if you're familiar with those players but Gaudette and Grimaldi are vets who can't crack an NHL lineup full-time. Gallagher may be brutal but he had 16 goals and 31 points in the NHL last year. Do you know what that would translate to in the AHL? A heck of a lot more than Adam Gaudette does, I'm certain of it.

I don't see it happening, but Jakob Pelletier is on waivers. I believe we were interested in him during the Toffoli talks.

If they need more players on IR, why not. He would have 0 space on the current lineup otherwise, I'd play Heineman ahead of him because we have too many small speedy skilled and soft wingers.

I know exactly who the top scorers were and I don't see that level of skill in Gallagher's game.
