This trade deadline reminds me of the McCann trade. Started off looking really great, and then blew it at the end. Overall the Leafs moved a lot of pieces around to end up just slightly better than last year, and paid a huge cost to do it
Their biggest concerns will be a lack of secondary scoring, they simply have NONE. At least in years prior, they had TONS of secondary offense. Now Matthews is struggling virtually every night and looks terrible.

Goaltending is spotty, going to be a bigger issue than most people are probably willing to admit or anticipate.

I just don't see Toronto getting past the first round, not enough secondary scoring, Matthews in the mud and spotty goaltending isn't gonna cut it.

It's just not.

Wouldn't the Marlies deal likely be negotiated by Ryan Hardy (Marlies GM) and Lawerence Gilman (SVP of Marlies)? I suspect that other than a quick rubber stamp, Dubas had little to do with it.
Both players are on NHL contracts, so Dubas would have made the trade, but likely got input on the trade.

question is if the leafs are tougher than last years playoffs with Clifford, Simmonds, Foligno, Muzzin

Upgraded top 4, improved middle 6/top 6, and reshaped 4th line
Slightly better is incorrect

Honestly, today sucks but of all the trades that happened today, is there any players that can improve the Leafs?
