It's a team effort and these are NHL deals... so everyone probably had input.

My guess is that the Marlies guys may have have been given a list of guys they could feel free to move. I doubt HUnt really figured in the Leafs furure plans.

The AHL have their own trade deadline. LeafsPR just announced the deal. When it involves the Marlies, their coaches and management are likely involved to make everyone across the board understands the process. Hunt for Zohorna was likely something everyone had input on for both the Marlies and Leafs depth.

Wouldn't the Marlies deal likely be negotiated by Ryan Hardy (Marlies GM) and Lawerence Gilman (SVP of Marlies)? I suspect that other than a quick rubber stamp, Dubas had little to do with it.

If it's an NHL contract then Dubas has to sign off on it, it's the rules, so Hardy would have to get it cleared and make a pretty good case on the return of Me Zohorna
