Very weird. Yezerman keeps making these little moves to make the team almost mildly competitive for a playoff spot but at the same time seems to be still rebuilding.

Jvr is a piece that could maybe help them for this run, but isn't even going to be helpful in the medium term let alone long-term

You are missing the point. Sammy gets injured and looks uncomfortable, not sure if that's his style, on most saves. Murray has played how many games this year and look bad in how many? It's not like we have 2 perfect goalies and got blind sided by something

I mean it's a good deal for the Marlies, gives them some size they lost when Hunt was acquired. Sadly though I think we'll also lose Drydens brother Mike, I doubt he sticks around now!

Tampa has Brian Elliot as their backup with a sub .900 save %.
We might not have Vasi as a #1 like they do but we have better depth at the position than they do and no one expects them to make a trade.

Giving up assets for a 3rd goalie is stupid. Especially when it means because of the cap you have to take away depth at a different position

Wouldn't the Marlies deal likely be negotiated by Ryan Hardy (Marlies GM) and Lawerence Gilman (SVP of Marlies)? I suspect that other than a quick rubber stamp, Dubas had little to do with it.
