Ottawa would probably be an easier opponent for Tornto. But I think Boston is more interesting. Certainly, it would be much more impressive if the Leafs beat both TB and BOS on their way to the ECF.

Yep. He was definitely going to ask for a trade. It would have got to the media and the return for him would have been less then what we got this week.
Gus gives us what Sandin could have in the playoffs this year and Boston’s pick in the 28-32 range is better than what we would have gotten later

I wouldn't be shocked if, after the McCabe trade, Sandin quietly asked for a trade again .. he knew he wouldn't get much opportunity in this line up so Dubas quickly found a suitor.

I'd like to see us try to pull off something crazy in the last hour but it won't happen.

Holl to the Jets plus 25% retention on Couture

Couture to the Leafs 75% retained

Holl return minus retiontion fee to the Sharks+ Return from us to make it happen.

Similar to the Duchene trade from a few years back. SJ gets more futures that way.
 
If they do not trade a d-man it definitely feeds into @rojac's point that they're intending that Timmins not get any playoff action unless there are major blue line injuries.

So they'd be intending on rolling with the other 8.

Which makes sense.

Leafs can probably get higher than they paid for their rentals today. We aren't beating the Bruins and maybe not Tampa. Sell them all for multiple firsts and offer Matthews to Arizona for their next 4 firsts

Crouse is perfect for 2LW, would give TB fans fit.
2 20 goal years in a row, size, hits, and pretty decently responsible defensively . That is the my target. I give up a ton for that
