People will call you crazy for putting Fayne out there but I'm with you on this one. He could bring back a solid player.

And this is exactly what I'm saying. I wouldn't rule Fayne out for being traded. He's a good top pairing (On our team) defenseman who would be a solid second pairing or first on another team as well. He's on a bargain contract, and is solid all around. The only one I'd say is untouchable is Larsson. I'd also really not wanna deal Greene.

You can call me crazy all you want, but what if someone got on here in January of 2002, and said ''Arnott could be traded at the deadline, and I think Sykora could be traded this Summer''? For a team that struggled with scoring that season they were our closest line to consistent.

i wouldn't be opposed to trading fayne if we're getting a proven top six winger back. he's steady, but he's also probably more likely to bring back a good player than tallinder or volchenkov.

I think Luca Sbisa is a great comparable to Fayne, he returned RJ Umberger (a consistent 50 point player) in a trade.

I love Fayne, but if we could get a guy like Grabner or Okposo back I would trade him without too much hesitation. Mostly because I know how stocked our pipeline is.

That's exactly why I say I wouldn't rule him out for a trade too. I had this feeling that if someone goes it might not be Tallinder or exactly who you think. It might be someone like Fayne. I love Fayne, but I don't see him as untouchable like Larsson, or many of our forwards. I doubt management sees him that way either. At the same time they aren't gonna let him go for a bunch of crap either.

I know you're just using them as examples but I wouldn't want either Islander at the expense of Fayne. Both of those guys, especially Grabner, are very inconsistent.

Fayne's not going anywhere though. We can very easily dump Tallinder or Volchenkov at the deadline. Decent teams who want to improve will be very eager to acquire a D-man. Hell, the Devils acquired Havelid and Skoula in back to back years.

Yeah We were always acquiring those defensemen around the deadline. Last year was Zidlicky. I think in 08 was Salvador, Lukowich was one year. We even got Ken Klee the one year who I often forget about even being on this team!

Even if the Devils acquire a good third liner, that would be fine by me. With Henrique coming back, the forward group doesn't look too shabby.

Tedenby/Zubrus-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Elias-Henrique-Clarkson
Tedenby/Zubrus-Josefson-Trade
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

I think if CBGB can be relied on as a 4th line again, playing 8-10 minutes per game, they would dominate most 4th lines in the league. As long as Lou builds up a bit more depth by acquiring another top 9 forward, this team will be fine and competing in the playoffs again.

I wonder how attached LA is to Loktionov. He's still in the minors this year. If they really need D, he'd be a great guy that can play anywhere in the top 9.

Never really paid much attention to Kulemin. After watching a bunch of goals he scores A LOT by being infront of the net off rebounds. Something a former Devil did a lot also. I wouldnt mind having a guy like him. He goes right to the front of the net once in the zone all the time. He has a pretty good wrister too.

Would be a nice addition but for some reason dont see it happening.

Kulemin would fit well with my dream of a bottom 6 full of Zubrus clones. I'm on board, let's do it.

Calgary would want an annoyingly large sum of talent for Iginla I feel.

They'd be stupid not to. You don't trade the franchise icon lightly.

As I said in the thread, Urbom + a 3rd.

We might do that, the Caps would pass. Especially because they paid a first for Brouwer a couple years ago. They'd want to get the same or a similar return for him.

The Caps will be sellers eventually this season. They have a lot of bloated deals on their roster and not much coming off of it next offseason except for Ribiero, Hamrlik, and Poti, and a slew of guys making less than a million. I'd be absolutely fine with making a move on Ribiero for cheap/rental. Hes going to be UFA and they'll want to get something for him and I could see a player like him helping us offensively in the short term.

Id also be cool with seeing if we could poach Kessel away from Toronto. 5.4 for two more years is doable.

Tedenby

He is 5' 9" if you step on him. He is the lightest player on the offense at 175 pounds. Did he screw himself over the summer by not bulking up. He gets bounced around in the corners. Was he a bad experiment that went wrong or didn't he have it for the NHL?

I like him but we can't afford his playing during a 48 game season.

I think he gets traded.

Your thoughts?

Tedenby has a point in 3 games, and is a plus 1

that may not seem like much, but to compare, Clarke MacCarther has 2 points in 4 and is a minus 2, Jakub Voracek is also 2 and -2. Dustin Brown? Conn Smythe winner? 0 points, -5

Traded for what, a 5th rounder ?

He has minimal trade value. At best he'll bring back another project.
