Zadorov is also a big pile of junk despite the age, size, and mobility advantages he has over Big Play David.
Zadorov asked for a trade and Calgary did not retain. Calgary traded him now instead of the TDL cause they "had to". When you "HAVE" to trade a player it always greatly diminish his value.Zadorov been trade for a 3rd and 5th pick. Savard is worse than him. So no

True, but there was no retention on Zadorov and is a UFA. A team trading for Savard has 2 runs for a possible cup at a reasonable cap hitZadorov been trade for a 3rd and 5th pick. Savard is worse than him. So no
Savard is a RD and RDs don't grow on trees. Zadorov value is irrelevant as a LD with a full cap hit.
This year draft is weak and ~25-32overall picks have low hit rates.
Voted yes.
Rookie GM move by Conroy..........Prices change at the TDL.
Really dumb move for the Flames to trade Zadarov at that time for that return.
Do you think that 2nd contract year will be a hindrance to a trade if Hughes should insist on not retaining?let's try for a defered 1st like we did with Florida and Calgary. Almost worked with Florida to get a lottery pick.
I still see a higher probability we don't get offered a 1st for Savard, even with 50% retained. But I'm curious to see what the market has in store. To get a 1st a team has to target a player. We'll see though. Which RD's will be available, and which ones will go first, leaving other teams looking for other back up plans.Do you think that 2nd contract year will be a hindrance to a trade if Hughes should insist on not retaining?
I would envisage a trade on the trading deadline of his final contract year, where retaining would not be a factor. The flip side is that Savard is not exactly overpaid so his AAV even for 2 years, is digestible.
i don’t know. If we retain 50% for this remaining year and next, that would put him at $1.75 million which is a pretty risk averse trade even if it doesn’t work out completely. If contenders are looking for a RHD that can fill into a top 4 role when they need, they may be still willing to pay the price of a late first just to have that kind of depth. No chance in hell to get a first for Savard. Nothing against the guy but he was barely worth that a couple years ago and he put some hard milleage on his body.
If we did get a 1st rounder, improbable, we’d probably trade it away for some washed out big-rep plug any ways. Color me jaded!I don't think we get a single first round pick at the TDL for any of the players that will be traded. Monahan and Anderson were the only candidates but with the way they're playing this season I'm pretty damn sure no team will be stupid enough to do it.

What if management are convinced both Reinbacher and Hutson will be in Montreal next year, or at least that it's more likely than not?He wont be traded period. Not this year. Next year? Yes.
