Interesting take. It’s like a kink at this point. There’s stat padders, I think the Oilers are advanced stat padders.
The advanced stats are certainly not defiinitive.

Out-goalied again.
What does Arvidsson do again?
Point was good after seeing everything past period oneTake the P
When its the other goalie making fantastic stops all game long its somehow the Oilers fault. When we give up only about half a dozen chances in a game its somehow the Oilers fault. When Skinner lets in half of the difficult stops after the other guy robs us blind its the Oilers fault. Its NEVER Skinners fault. You're delusional. It wasn't a great game, but it certainly wasn't garbage.
Nothing is the goalies fault, unless it's the other team, then it's on the skates for not scoring![]()
Def a problem yupSkinner put up a .941 save % tonight. He’s over .920 and 13-5-2 in his last 20 but he’s the problem.
The Oilers only get to shoot on Skinner in practice. Blood on the beach is all I'm saying.I’m gonna disagree on the Mcdavid attempt being fine and it being a fantastic stop. It was a slow drag across the net and slid along the ice. It was bad.
Not excusing Skinner either btw but our two attempts were amateur hour.

He wasn't even good in this game. He was almost beaten twice by 100ft shots from near center ice that took him by surprise. Luckly neither went in and the one dribbled just by the post.
What does that have to do with McDavid's shootout attempt? You said it was fine, and it wasn't.Its an automatic goal against Skinner. Sure you'd agree. Both shootout goals on Skinner weren't with too much speed going in either. Just pick a spot, any spot and win a prize.
We scored 1 goal tonight on an actual good hockey playOh we’re on “almost goals” now.
Lyon let one by him that got knocked away by a teammate in the third. Does that almost goal count the other way?
Right? That's what I can't stand. The other goalie never has a good games, because if they did, they'd have to admit someone is better than their hero...When its the other goalie making fantastic stops all game long its somehow the Oilers fault. This reinforces just how bad this team is when it comes to finishing. This shows you they did more then the wings In those said periods……
Your the one scapegoating a goalie on a 20 game run where he’s above .920 and 13-5-2Right? That's what I can't stand. The other goalie never has a good games, because if they did, they'd have to admit someone is better than their hero...

I have watched pretty much ever minute of almost every game this season and I cant remember seeing any version of this team that has missed more 10 bell chances (open net or otherwise) than this version.
They just dont bear down nearly enough around the net..
One theory regarding that issue is that its possible we may not see the best version of this team until the playoffs.
One was a gift when Chiarot whiffed on a clear and the other was superstar goalie swimming and unable to find the puck before Skinner swept it into the net in slow motion. We scored 1 goal tonight on an actual good hockey play
Maybe our expectations are too high. flu is going around the Oilers room, several of our players are sick. Possibly McD too and he wasn't really on tonight. None of us really know what its like. But I'm sure not gonna get on the greatest player in hockey because he has some lukewarm games. What does that have to do with McDavid's shootout attempt? You said it was fine, and it wasn't.
The first goal was lucky it hopped but those go both ways. One was a gift when Chiarot whiffed on a clear and the other was superstar goalie swimming and unable to find the puck before Skinner swept it into the net in slow motion.
Two of the Pickard losses the Oilers failed to score so that he's actually 13W-2L in games the Oilers actually score in. Pretty damned impressive.Skinner 19W 15L
Pickard 13W 4L
Top 5 offensive team in the league.I suppose nobody thinks it's slightly strange that the Oilers get "goalied" for pretty much every loss from goalies who can't "goalie" other teams.
But it couldn't possibly be the shooters.
