I'm just sick and tired of people bringing him up, I don't care if he scores 1000 goals in LA, he's gone, let it go! Same people were calling for Prospel to come back earlier in the year as well. It's just so annoying. He just didn't fit here, he doesn't play goalie or defense so he wouldn't help a bit in this series!

and that's fine...say that...but what you said above is so completely wrong its not funny...

Still reeling from the emotional roller coaster that was last nights game.

As other posters have stated, this is all a learning experience for the team, and the future is very bright.

Absolutely NOBODY is worried about Gaborik or where he is on the ice or what he's doing, they didn't care when he was here, they don't care now that he's in LA. He wouldn't take anymore attention away from Joey than Comeau does. Everybody cut the crap with Gaborik, he's gone, he was worthless here, he's worthless in LA.

Well he had 16 points in 19 games for them. And i feel like there was was a couple Arty goals where the defender clearly left Arty alone to go cover Gaborik.

First let me vent:
-The crowd was amazing until things got bad, then the crowd disappeared. So congrats on getting 19k in the house, and for being great fans when the going was

Can't speak for everyone, but for myself, I felt like I needed to go out in the hall and vomit when the Pens started scoring and we couldn't stop the bleeding whatsoever. Just felt helpless, it didn't surprise me that the arena kinda died.

I agree about Dean Morton (Ref 36), the majority of the weak calls came from him. Thought Kozari called a much more balanced and fair game.

This team we have will be a Cup contender, maybe even a cup finalist within 3 or 4 year maximum, the biggest thing we lack right now is experience and maturity. We once again let the Pens get in our head once the pucks started going in. When this team matures to the point where that doesn't happen and it is able to close out games, then the real party will start and a series like this will be 3-0 in favor of CBJ.

I want to assume/believe this as well, but I'd rather win now.

Many thought the same thing in 2009. I'm sure Islanders fans thought so after last year.

Apologies for being a fatalist. I know the team is gaining experience and has a nice core of young players and this time it's different and whatnot.

If what I've read in this thread so far is pointing fingers at Bob then...

...this is also pointing fingers at Bob.

I haven't read a single post that suggests "if only Bob had played better, we'd have won."

"If we had MAF instead of Bob, I think we're up 2-1."

These type of posts are what I'm referring as finger pointing at Bobrovsky.

I'd like to ask something to the people that watched the game on television, but what was up with the penalty on Foligno? He stopped at the goalie, didn't spray him with ice or anything, and stood there. The Pitts defender came up and pushed him but Foligno didn't do anything, he didn't even look at the Pitt player, I was standing right there four rows behind the net. Umberger came in running his mouth, but I didn't see Foligno do anything, unless he started talking crap after Umberger came in.

he's supposed to be a goal scorer, he had 5 goals in 21 games so far, that's not an elite goal scorer making 7.5 million a year, he's not paid to get second assists. And with that, I'm never speaking of him again, I'm only interested in the players that we have on this team.

was at the game, but was told it was for unsportsmanlike for snowing the goalie...which was obviously BS..especially when Neal came screaming into the crease to punch him (or so it looked to me from the other end of the ice) and got no call for it...

From the broadcast I was watching, it showed, as you described, Foligno standing in front of the goalie and the Pens players started coming up talking smack. As the players started skating away, it went to commercial. When it came back, Foligno was in the box and the Pens were on the PP. I also would like to know what the call was.

I missed what the announcers said the penalty was for because I was also dealing with a tired 5 year old at the time.

Had you quoted that one post, it probably would have helped. I read more finger-pointing at Umberger.

Sure there were over-arcing narratives, but Bob was culpable, among other players, in specific instances.

We have two 1 goal losses. I don't know how having him on the ice over Boll (Game 1) or Comeau "wouldn't help a bit". If nothing else, they could have played him on PP and 6 on 5 at the end of the game if they didn't think he offered anything else to the team.

LA is #1 defensive team and Gaborik adapted to fit, scoring 16 points in 19 games. Sounds like an issue with coaching here or panicking by Jarmo, which both would concern me long-term.

.

Thats the players ****ing fault. The fans were still into it and cheering as hard as ever when they pissed away the two goal lead in like 2 minutes, it's not like it helped them calm down any. Fans were great.

It was for snowing. There was a bit of spray but nothing like what Bob got in game 2. Commentators on just above every station made fun of that call last night after it happened. It was pretty weak.

I still can't believe that, and I still can't believe the Johansen 'holding' call either.

yeah, the crowd tried to get them back into it after goals by starting the CBJ chant...

it was the right call on him, my problem is the ref watched the Pens player do it too...so either let it go, or send them both...

Something I just remembered. In the 2nd period, we had a PP and Wiz got the puck on Fleury's glove side, I think he had an issue catching the puck, but he did eventually get it under control and MAF was down and out. This was on the opposite side of the rink to me (was in 107), and I don't recall a replay on the big screen. Why didn't Wiz shoot? In too tight? Because MAF was down and out, and Wiz tried a really lame wraparound attempt/pass.

We really could have used a goal on that PP, so many nice passes, but everyone looked afraid to shoot. I remember feeling the same as you when I saw Wiz pass up that opportunity.

The whole "We would have won with MAF" theory is completely flawed to the core. Just compare the save percentages from last night. If we had been able to send 40 shots on net, we would have scored 6 goals most likely.

The guys at CBC were sure it was Niskanen who was going to the box for coming at Foligno.

Honestly, that is a loser's mentality and is completely wrong. Remember the Isles, lead by young star John Tavares, also challenged the Pens in the first round last year...and this year they dropped back to being the worst in the league. Hard to imagine Washington and Carolina not being much improved next year as well.

The playoffs are not guaranteed next year and this isn't necessarily a stepping stone. This is a big opportunity and its painful to watch the team throw it away.

On top of that - guys like Wiz and RJ and high paid pros, who are in their 30's with playoff experience. We pay them top dollar for games like this, and to have the third period they did was inexcusable.

Dubi, Foligno, Anisimov, Comeau, Mackenize - these guys are veterans. This idea that the team is just a bunch of kids who should just be happy to be there really bothers me.
