Holy ****ing cliff diving.

That wasn't a good game but I saw nothing that suggests we're close to out of this playoff series.

The key to Wednesday is to suck in the first period. The team that does that seems to end up winning the game.

Of all the times for Bob to suck....

He was great for most of the game, but that Orpik goal... Right in front of me, and even though it didn't deflate the crowd, it certainly deflated him and the team.

MAF vs Bob, who needs the heimlich maneuver more? Seriously, MAF was awful all night. His best save was the flying pokecheck he did to prevent Calvert from getting a mini breakaway, if that even counts as a save.

You know what was the last time an Ohio team eliminated a Pittsburgh team in the postseason?

1990. That year, the Reds beat the Pirates in the NLCS, and would win the World Series.

IIRC, that was also the last Ohio team to win a big 4 championship (unless I'm missing a Bengals Super Bowl title in that time).

Thoughts:

Buildings was electric, even when the Jackets went down I thought the crowd did a nice job of staying loud.

Jenner is going to be an absolute beast. Love his game down low.

Umberger was a lazy sloth on that own-zone turnover. Still, who can you put in over him, surely not Boll or Frattin, but would Tropp be any worse?

Pens did a nice job on Joey. They ate him up at the blueline.

Thought Murray had a rough game tonight. Really hesitant on the power play (shoot the damn puck) and was having trouble with pressure in his his own zone.

Think the Jackets get the W on Wednesday in a low-scoring grinder.

Just got back from the game and I can't tell you how deflating the two moments were with the goal at the end of the second and then to watch them be tied. While we created a heck of a lot of excitement and had a chance to cash, I have to say we were badly outplayed as Pittsburgh controlled the play as the game went on. We got the most out of the scoring opportunities that we had. This was especially true after the penalties seemed to take away our aggressiveness against a more skilled team. You just can't get outshot two fold. Our inability to clear the puck was costly. I noticed several have rightly criticized Prout, but I also thought Savard was afraid to shoot and Murray was not as strong as I would have liked. The RJ turnover at the end was one of those " WTF" moments.

If we had MAF instead of Bob, I think we're up 2-1.

(Never thought I'd say that)

It's just disapointing. We're following the blueprint to beat a team (anybody really noticed Crosby and Malkin? Seriously, we're doing a fantastic job of that) that's so much more skilled than us pretty well and than Bob just crapped out that 4th goal

I don't blame him on that goal. It went off his own player and in the net. Not sure what he was suppose to do on that goal.

Didn't really get to see that one. I was in 107, IDK if I can say it was his fault on the 4th because once I saw it went in I sat in my seat and didn't care to see the replay, but certainly the first was on him.

And no, please don't link the 4th goal. I don't want to see it right now..

Great crowd, and really a good hockey game between two great teams. General thoughts:

We need to pour it on Fleury on Wednesday. Powerplays were solid but lacked shots. I'm telling you, if we put it on goal more, he will crack.

2nd period officiating was questionable at best. Hate to say it but the NHL really does not want the Jackets to win this series, there's no money in it for them, Crosby and Malkin are draws to the casual fans of the game. Many of the calls we saw in this game truly supported that line of thinking.

Bob was very good. Tough bounces suck. He kept us in it.

Was great to see the guys never give up, just like usual. The answer by Cam to begin the 3rd period, even the play in the final minute to almost tie the game at 4. Really liked it.

It's not that we are losing the games that bothers me, it's that we're losing games we should win. As I said, the guys have heart but the lack of finish from the regular season has definitely carried on into this series. Shame.

One other thing, I was all around CBJ fans except for this one guy and his wife. Once we went up 3-1, he said it was over and took off his jersey at the disgust of his wife....Guess who was the biggest ******** after the final buzzer with his jersey proudly on saying "this is OUR house" pointing to his logo?

I thought MAF was no better than Bob - maybe not as good though that's a generous word to use this evening. Had we generated 41 shots on MAF we would've posted five or six goals.

Prout still can't figure out how to break out of the zone cleanly, Umberger is playing like he wants out of here in the offseason, Why in gods name did Wiz turn his back on that 2nd goal? That made no sense and I knew when he did that they were going to score, you can't defend with your back to the play. It's always 1 or 2 guys every time that **** us over. Yea, they put up a ton of shots, but they were all pansy shots. This is a game we should have won, but again, this team is only at it's best when its back is against the wall. I'm not going to any other games this season as I haven't seen a win sense 2011-2012 season, I'm bad luck and I'll take one for the team.
