The solution seems evident :
Don't depend on other teams to suck ass to clinch a playoffs spot. It wouldn't surprise me that NYR goes on a 4W stretch to end the season either, they have the talent for it.
Just win a game.

Caps might ice a better team at home tomorrow. Florida did the same in Detroit, but iced a much better team in Florida. They brought Barkov back.
It's a back-to-back between Columbus & Washington.
The only thing that should be making you nervous is us.
If we can't put the final nail in the coffin we really don't belong.

Obviously it would be great to see the Habs get a playoff spot with other teams unable to win this weekend.
But all Montreal has to do is win one regulation game in the next 3 which includes games at home against the 2nd worst team (worst road team) in the league or against Carolina, who is a good team, but is 0-3-1 in their last 4 games, is 16-19-4 on the road, and is locked into 2nd place in their division.

Right. They hold their own future in their hands…. And they can fail badly. Games vs TO and CAR will be amazing tests.

A regulation win tonight would be amazing so we can all enjoy Demidov's debut stress-free on Monday.
This game is a gimme for Columbus. The Caps should play their regular lineup tomorrow, including Ovechkin.

Last i checked, I think Carolina is comfortably in 2nd place and dont have alot to play for. They are also not a good road team.
Montreal's last 2 games are softballs, if they really need them, but I just hope they are in a position to rest players for these games.

Fantilli destroyed Leonard(who just went to the locker room) and immediately scored after. They have an absolute stud in Fantilli.
Reinbacher is a smooth skating, toolsy defenseman. So I can see the appeal.
But man did I ever want Leonard BAD in that draft year. Imagine adding that style of player to our young forward core up front. I would have been NASTY. I think we may end up regretting passing on him in a similar way we did with Brady Tkachuk.

So this means that they will win against Chitown and rest players for the last game. Nearly a week off is fine.
