We are winning the cup, we only need to believe...
What ever happens happens, still possible to make the playoffs. Personally I would prefer a top 5 pick, but I wouldn't mind playoffs. I'm ok with what ever outcome.
I think this game has shot our playoffs thought down
I think most just wanted to make some noise around the wild card spots....just some noise. Not sure why anyone was thinking playoffs in the 1st place.

My issue with them this year, is they should not be getting spanked 9-2 like last night.
They have had a few of these games, losing by 6-7 goals.....WTF???
They have to learn to be more, in the games......can't let that happen.
It would seem fragile is a term for young teams.........and when the goalie crumbles like last night, letting in goals they shouldn't the team is fragile and seems to stop playing.
Beyond Bad 3rd period......Beyond.
Can't keep shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. This team is quitting too easily and that's unacceptable. People pay alot of money for the Bell Center experience and Molson has to address the current state of this team with his managers. It's not about losing during a rebuild...it's about how you lose.A lot can change in a few games. But something more radical than mixing lines is needed. Calling up a goalie would be a start. We used to have a lot more goalie competition in the past. I'm not sure why we've given up on it. Sitting some players would also be a good idea.
Parity is the result of dilution and the cap as teams attempt to plug holes in the lineup due to annual roster turnover. All of which is not germane to the subject at hand of which is why Montreal may or may not make the playoffs. I commented as to why they are where they are, which is the topic if my geriatric memory serves me right. lolParity is not an expression of dilution, quite the opposite.
The more there is talent, the more likely there is parity, because the level of leaguewide talent offsets the truly elite players.
The only reason we aren't living in a super defensive league caused by a swell of talent is because the league changed some rules, like making goalie equipment smaller. Otherwise, the same trend that was rising between 2010 and 2019, would've continued, where we were living a second dead puck era-level defense because there's not much time or space on the ice. It's still like that, but the smaller goalie equipment will invariably bring more goals (it's just physics and probability). The reason there's not much time or space on the ice is because of the talent level.
Look back at the 70's and 80's and see the effects of dilution. Greater disparity of teams, greater disparity of stats. We're not talking about simply adding two teams to 30 other teams here, which is a very small dilution (less than 10%). It was from 6 to 23 teams in less than 25 years. That's dilution.
From 2003 onwards, there were no expansions until Vegas in 2017. That period saw an influx of talent with zero expansion, which led to 2015 scoring being almost as low as the DPE.
Continuously adding talent without expansions (barring rule changes and/or new tech) will invariably cause more parity, because all team overalls get generally upgraded, making the difference from one team to the other, be much less.
Parity is the result of dilution
This home stand many people posting Habs only 3 points out of 8th positionNot sure why anyone was thinking playoffs in the 1st place.
