Having Schenn and Holl play over Liljegren is statistically and eye-test wise purely unjustifiable. Schenn is tough and that’s about it.
Did you not watch the game yesterday? Last night was the perfect example of why a guy like Schenn is valuable. There’s an argument to be made that both Holl and Schenn shouldn’t both be in at the same time.
But I’m not exactly seeing what Timmins or Liljegren is going to bring that may not end up being a liability similar to Holl. Better skaters than Holl but equally as likely to cough up the puck. If anything I think Holl and Liljegren should each get 1 game in the opening 2 and whoever performs better gets that 6th spot.
