Perhaps not to this extent, but they got buried pretty good shots-wise in a couple of those game.

I've never seen them this feckless offensively ever. Yes they were dominated by the Caps in shots but they were still able to manufacture offensive chances.

And lucky as hell with the goal disallowed, a goal bouncing in off a Pred, etc.

EDIT: Getting outshot wasn't the surprising part. Getting shut down offensively as utterly and completely as they were after the 1st was.
