Praying on a speedy recovery for Liljegren.

Not a Justin Holl fan on that play and he deserves all the flack for that street hockey passing but also look at the two forward penalty killing forwards ready to blow the zone. Looks very similar to Muzzin trying to desperately swat it up the ice with zero support.

My God I watched this game just for fun. What happened to this guy. He was limited from the beginning but was serviceable.
He looks so slow. He looks lost when it comes to awareness of where the puck is in the done.
He looked God awful.

He’s not being put into a situation to succeed anymore. When you put your serviceable bottom pair guy into the #2 role sometimes it’s just too much for a player’s skill set. The problem is I don’t know if the Leafs have much of a choice.

I know he could play for a team that is tanking, but are the Leafs the only team competing for a playoff spot where Holl could start?

Muzzin is done. I said it a few weeks back. When Lily comes back, run Reilly -Brodie, Gio-Lily, Sandin-Mete/Benn/Holl. LTIR Muzzin for the season, looks like a concussion again. Be his third in less than 8 months. Start shopping for a D man.
Nothing has changed. They’re still thin at D and they still need another one as good or better than Brodie.
How do they acquire that?

That is a play that has to be made. Rolling puck off the boards... this is the NHL. If a guy cannot make that play consistently, what is he doing in the NHL?

He was decent the last couple games, but yet again, when he is put in a position where he has to make a play on the puck, he cannot.

At the same time, team didn't lose because of this play... the rest of the team was a no-show for the most part, but that doesn't excuse how simple of a play this was.

I thought Mete was much better than Holl in preseason.

Many were very vocal about the tight race between Malgin and Robertson.

Should have been outrage about Holl over Mete based on preseason.

Good thing +/- isn't impacted by PK, so sell him as a plus player! ;-)

If Mete can skate at NHL-level and is able to chip the puck off the boards and out he is 1000% better than Holl already.

Liljegren was benched in favour of Holl last playoffs. Remember when we all wanted Keefe coaching instead of Babcock? Yeah, good times

Gents nothing new here .. same old same old .. he is a 6/7 guy in league at CAP min .. we are playing him WAY WAY WAY over his skill set .. you can't ask a guy who skates with his speed and agility (edge work non existent) to play in a top end role .. sorry this is all on GM and coach .. Holl got his 6M from hockey and for that i am happy for him .. da rest is all on team

Justin Holl needs to sit for this.
6 goals while he's on, and to have such poor defending to start the playoffs is embarrassing.

He is the same dog shit player he always has been. Cue the lineup of posters to defend him as "a good bottom pairing dman" or "worth the $2M he is paid" because they can't possibly allow for the fact that Dubas has been wrong about this player since day 1.

Justin Holl is trying to win a Formula 1 race driving a go-kart, can't even blame him anymore. He is completely in over his head during the playoffs (when all players elevate their compete level).
