Rodin will probably look OK on the third line with Vilardi and Virtanen...

We are not a bottom 5 team when everyone is healthy. You can forget vilardi. There is tons to learn as a sophomore in NCAA... undersized Gaudreau turned out pretty impressive leaving before his senior year.

If Boeser continues his dominance over the course of the season can he get as much hype as Vesey had in his third and fourth year with ECAC? I wonder if Boeser decides to exercise his rights and chooses to stick around for 4 years...

That makes zero sense financially. He'd be losing two years of earning potential now and he'd be shrinking his earning potential in prime years by a couple. That could wind up costing him 15-20m if he goes on to be an elite player.

Boeser was more impressive in his first season than Vesey was in his fourth.....and there is zero chance he stays in Grand Forks after this season.

He'd have to hate every part of the Canucks organization to do that.

Boeser is the one who pushed Vancouver heavily to Stecher and Cagguila. I wouldn't worry about it.

Is the reason why Boesers skating is a bit average cause he hasnt had many games at a top level? The guy was playing high school hockey 3 years ago. Connor played USHL for 3 years before getting drafted. He probably didnt need explosive skating to dominate at those lower levels. Only 1 year in USHL and only now 2 in the NCAA. His skating has improved since being drafted.

This I didn't know. That's great to hear.

There's life after hockey. For some, the ability to graduate with a degree and then start a hockey career can be important. That and choosing where you play can be enticing.

Are there any other comparables for players that have dominated their sophomore years for this league? I know Johnny Hockey played exceptionally well during his tenure in the HE league.

Gaudreau was a 4th round pick who was 5'8. He had to dominate to get a chance in the NHL.

Last year Boeser was asked by an interviewer in an interview who his fave team was growing up and he said Minnesota BUT THEN said his new fave team is Vancity. An the interviewer didnt even ask him!!! I think we dont need to worry about him going the vesey road :)

Boeser scores his second goal of the game against Bemidji. Going for another hat trick?
