for me, Zacha is maybe the only guy in the top 10 who i could see Boeser over after last year.

Connor, Chabot, Barzal, Aho

somewhere around 15 probably.

I'm guessing that unless UND goes all the way to Frozen Four finals, Boeser could be in Utica helping the Comets by late March?

Starting to think college this year is better so we can tank for another top pick. With Boeser scoring insane amount of goals we would be too high in the standings and go nowheres anyways. Like Shneids in Jersey

Yeah, but I can't help but feel like he's stalled a little bit playing in college again.

It was his choice and it's his life but he's not really going to be able to take the next step forward until he ups the level of competition.

I really don't think so, just look at how tough the NCAA is.

There is still plenty of upwards mobility before he hits the ceiling of that league can offer.

Just look at Johnny Gaudreau as a example. When he scored 1.5PPG in his Draft +2 it didn't stunt his development keeping him in the NCAA another year, the next year he improved his production to 2.0PPG.

I feel like that is a great bar to measure Boeser's development. If he can put up Gaudreau's godly D+3 numbers this year (2PPG) it will probably solidify him as a franchise type player, a guy you can build a team around. Right now I think Boeser still has plenty to learn in the NCAA.

but 2017 is probably one of the weakest draft for top picks

I think 2.0 ppg is a tough ask.

New linemates and Gaudreau did 2ppg in his draft +3.

1.75ppg and work on his skating and all-around game and thats great.

Gaudreau had a .5PPG improvement every year.

If Boeser wants to match that level of development then he needs to do about the same. Boeser put up a 1.4PPG last year and if he were to develop into a true franchise player I think he needs to put up around 1.8-2.0PPG this year.

If he stagnates then I feel like he'll still be a fantastic prospect, but not a franchise level prospect.

It's of course an incredibly tough ask for Boeser to put up those numbers but that's what it would take IMO.

With another UND alumnus Troy Stecher lighting it up in training camp, is it too early to be asking this question about Boeser...could he actually be in Vancouver by March helping the Canucks if UND gets eliminated?

Yes boeser could probably make this team already but he wants another year to develop so he can come in a top 6 role

There would be more disparity between lines if we had more legitimate scoring talent. Yeah, it's still a thingie.

Not if you have quite a few legitimate scoring talent. Did the Penguins win the Cup with Malkin as the team's 3rd line C or Kessel as the team's 3rd line winger?

Do you mean less disparity?

I don't think it's a thing anymore. I think people still think it's a thing, but it's not a thing. Or at least, it shouldn't be a thing.
