Gaudreau had a .5PPG improvement every year.
If Boeser wants to match that level of development then he needs to do about the same. Boeser put up a 1.4PPG last year and if he were to develop into a true franchise player I think he needs to put up around 1.8-2.0PPG this year.
If he stagnates then I feel like he'll still be a fantastic prospect, but not a franchise level prospect.
It's of course an incredibly tough ask for Boeser to put up those numbers but that's what it would take IMO.
If we're speaking purely in terms of production, Gaudreau's D+1 year was 1.0PPG, while Boeser's D+1 year was 1.43PPG. Due to this, I don't think it's fair to hold Boeser to the same rate of growth as Gaudreau, especially considering a lot of their production is affected by linemates and the team they play on. For me to see Boeser on the same level as Gaudreau, yes, he'd have to continue to increase production, but as long as he can put up even 1.6PPG in college this year, even with different linemates, I'd still see him as a huge prospect because that is a huge feat in itself at his age.
