I'm gonna..
Not that it's a HUGE deal and i know its just the showcase so he might not really care but man is he coming off as kind of soft. In the game the other day and now vs Canada it seems like whenever theres a scrum or any kind of pushing and shoving he just backs down. Doesnt seem to have any sort of fire to get in there and mix it up. Again not the end of the world just thought it was worth noting

Yeah I think he's the kind of guy that's only going to turn it on when the games matter. Seems he really doesn't care a lot of the time in these 'showcases' or any other exhibition sort of game.

I watched the entire game, and live discussed it basically on my twitter.

Brock has been "good" in the 2nd and 3rd, but he has not stood out, except on the PP on a nice play.

That's what players like Boeser can do. Not play great all game and still impact the game in one shot.

Even if he turns out to be a PP guy for the Canucks, his shot, positioning, and playmaking ability will give him 30 goals in the NHL eventually.

You can't teach that

Gonna need to find a new goat to pin it on what with Virtanen being too old this year.

Was already thinking about this, and how the system/playstyle Canada used was really to blame. So where's your scapegoat now eastern media? Also if there has too be a scapegoat let it be Lawson Crouse, as he's getting Lazar levels of overrated.

To be fair, I've hardly heard a good thing said about Crouse since he was drafted.

The goats could very well be Marner and Strome if they perform like this in December, when they're supposed to be our best weapons.

I don't know why you keep putting "guaranteed" in all of your posts. It's not like you own up to it when your "guarantee" doesn't come to pass.

I agree on the McAvoy pick, the kid is going to be a player. I think I had him in my top 12 going into the draft, Boston is going to love him.
Back to Boeser, I dont think his skating is going to be that much of an issue. Not many kids get drafted as an 18 year old and have nothing to work on. Brock just needs to pick up half a step or so in his start up, and he should be fine.

Also, he seems to slow down in the later stages of a game. A bit better conditioning would do him well. But I agree, I think won't be too much of a problem. You don't need to skate well to sit in the slot and snipe :sarcasm:

Really, his top end speed is actually pretty good. It's just the first few steps and refining his stride a bit.

He has a long, low stride, his technique is similar to horvat's. I'm betting neither guy has the quickest feet, horvat still isn't great over short distances and it tends to take him a while to wind up, and I doubt it will ever be one of boeser's strengths either.
