Dubas pretty much put it all on himself.

As he should have. Babcock was very clear about the things that he wanted and Dubas went completely in the opposite direction. He wanted to keep McElhinney as a backup, Dubas waived him in favor of Sparks. Sparks has a shit season, but it's OK because he is a Dubas favorite. Babcock asks for another RHD because he likes his pairs to be on their strong side and the Leafs have an abundance of LHD, Dubas instead trades for Muzzin who is a LHD. This forces Babcock to force Rielly on his offside and constantly force lesser Dmen up the pairings. Babcock says that he would like a bit more size and strength in the bottom 6, Dubas instead makes his only deadline deal by trading for 5' 9" Nic Petan. The Leafs proceed to be bullied by the Bruins. Honestly, every single move that Dubas has made since becoming the Leafs GM has been directly opposed to Babcock, he honestly seems to be going out of his way in order to get him fired so his buddy Keefe can take over. I hate that the media rides on Dubas so hard when he has been pretty much a mess since taking over. His contract negotiations have been shit and he purposefully ignored dire needs, leading to his team having 5 less points than last season and only making the playoffs by 4 points, this despite getting gifted f***ing Tavares.

You think the Kings regular forwards alone are going to score 230 goals, with the 4th line each averaging around 17 goals each?

The Kings scored 202 goals as a team last year, if you add in defenseman goals and call-up/Toffoli/Clifford goals to your total you have the Kings scoring about 275-280 goals which would be top 5 in the league.

I dont see anyway Amadio gets 45 points unless hes playing 2nd line center all year.

Amadio did have an ES P/60 of 1.63, he just didn't get much ice time. With increased TOI and improved systems/linemates, I don't think it is that much of a stretch for him to improve his PPG by .2.

Thats the only way I could set it up.. I added Grundstrom as a full season player even though i think he spends some time in the AHL
Its also possible Kupari spends the full season in Ontario and Clifford takes that spot
Based on what i've seen, I don't doubt Wagner pots 15-20 goals and i went with the higher number
Luff was based on a full season of production assuming said players were moved if not expect that number to trend downward
Amadio to me can easily attain those numbers just by actually getting to play a full season which i think he does under TMac
realistically if zero trades are made our lineup will look like this
Kovy-Kopitar-Brown
Prokhorkin-Carter-Toffoli
Iafallo-Kempe-Wagner
Clifford-Amadio-Lewis

I think a full season under a real coach will do wonders for our players... as for the 4th line, they did put up 28 goals on minimal playing time.. imagine at minimum 10min of PT each and at worse they have the ability to each score 12g

I'm thinking the lineup won't be looking a lot different but could run like...

Brown--Kopitar--Carter
Kovy--Kempe--Prokhorkin
Grundstrom--JAD--Toffoli
Iafallo--Amadio--Wagner
Clifford, Luff

Even with McClellan, I don’t see these numbers. And his squads thrive offensively. 240 would be great, 250+ exceptional.

Jesus is it going to be a long off season or what? So many of these projections are pie in the sky.

Let's just assume a modest "improvement" to the black hole next season with a WC spot being a "didn't see that coming!" moment. I put improvement in quotes since that is up for debate if it is actually an improvement to wind up black hole over picking Top 5.

Wow. Screenshot this. If Carter scores 57 points, I will send you $100. But it must be: on the Kings and this coming season. Not in the AHL or anywhere else.
I would do that for the AHL though, as well. Not a bet. I am owed nothing if he doesn't.

I think its hard to be sure with Carter. He had a poor season by his standards, but after his time in cbus (where he supposedly stuck out his bottom lip), perhaps he is a player that wont play well if the surrounding situation doesnt suit him. If Carter wasnt vibing with WD then perhaps we were seeing the stroppy version.

New respected coach = new Carter :tmi:

The funny thing is that those numbers make us a legit playoff team! add that to our defense and we could surprise like the CBJs..

Brickley(6g-13a-19pts)-Doughty 8g-44a-52pts
Martinez(7g-20a-27pts)-Roy 4g-15a-19pts
Forbort(5g-13a-18pts)-Walker 6g-21a-27pts
MacSlobberKnocker.. 4KO'd Ducks, 3 KO'd Sharks, 2 KO'd VGK and 1 series playoff win
Dion at home getting paid

I’m already jonesing for rookie camp, which isn’t till July I think.

I'm just actually enjoying the NHL playoffs again after not really doing so the past few years. Since the Kings can't really do anything for now, I'm not worrying about it or looking forward to anything except the draft but, even then, I'm not diving in to it deeply yet.

Actually enjoying the break from having to watch them this past season and doing the "should I or shouldn't I go to the game" dance. It's been pretty nice, actually.

The team put in the same effort. No reason we should do more than them. The only difference if they get paid quite well, even if they't not entertaining in any way, and fans have to pay a lot. You can have a pretty good life if you have some talent and decent timing.

I can't just watch hockey around the league like I could in my 20s. I honestly barely watched anything but Kings hockey this year. Probably a reason why I've enjoyed the playoffs so much since I'm actually seeing good plays and they aren't exclusively against my favorite team. That and it seems they've been allowing more scrums and bad blood to get going so it seems like there has been a higher intensity level.

As much as people hated the way our Kings played hockey, thats what teams are playing and what won the Caps the cup last season...
Physical, hard hitting hockey with timely goals, now all the soft teams are gone.. I've loved watching these playoffs minus the shitty officiating

Next year scoring predictions? This team has no reliable legit 2nd line center. If Carts does rebound then I can see a real pick-up in scoring. Based on his level of give-a-shit I don't see that happening.

No way Kempe is a 2c, certainly not next year. Amadio will be lucky to hold down the 3rd line. Kopi had O.N.E. PP goal last year. We have to find an upgrade for 2C or else we will have boring, hard to watch, losing hockey again next year.
