Not just in France. 22/23.
Yes, I think Milner is shooting them or at least used to because Salah and Mane fought over one a while back.
I mean, I am spitballing, without any clear knowledge. However, I believe that Klopp wants a veteran experienced hand with it, and I also believe there’s some statistical data for that situation. Everything else they do is deeply based in stats and analytics, so I really feel there’s got to be some reason. I do know they’ve done them in training and Milner is basically automatic there. With Henderson not really being that type of player, I think it makes sense. I mean, they have crazy data on penalties for keepers and tendency of shooters, as Adrian said post Super Cup. So it would make sense that they’re doing the same internally.
At this point, I think the shift to Salah is two fold. He’s pretty good, and it helps fuel him. He really does want to score each time, and he plays better when he is scoring. If he gets a few cheap ones at the spot, it’s better for the team. Fabinho doesn’t need the stats to feel good. Mane might, but he’s a team player first, for better or worse. I don’t really think the dispute was between him and Mane (there might have been, but not like we’ve seen in other clubs) about penalties, though they have gotten after each other for passing.
