I would've done Letang for Simmonds, Couturier, and whatever else Philly was offering for Letang at the time, had I known. Pretty much everyone on this board would've too.

Although I don't think highly of him as a reporter at all, I still followed him on Twitter because he would provide things like practice lines and quotes - both bits of information that were interesting to me. However, after this Kovacevic guy started his website, he pretty much stopped tweeting interesting information and resorted to retweeting links to his site over and over and over (to a degree that could be considered spamming). I expect Yohe to do the same now, they have to make their money somehow.

The "source" of that rumor was a Flyers beat writer on Philly radio.

Whether it was true or if Holmer was just having a little fun leaking bull **** to an idiot is anybody's guess. Neither would surprise me.

He's got no overhead, so I'm guessing yes. Bunch of neat marketing ideas. The "buy a sub for a policeman/vet" thing is a stroke of genius. The "freebies for active servicemen" is another great way to get reader goodwill. A combat vet sees that and the probability of him or her subscribing goes up by several thousand percent, I'm sure.

Also the Riverhounds appear to have recently bribed him to continue being the only media person in the world to attend their games, lol. Riverhounds throw around more ad money than you'd think an operation like that would. I'm guessing their "sponsership" was not insubstantial. They can do that because they pay their athletes pennies.


Anyways, I have no problem with Yohe. Never struck me as a bad beat writer, just as a lazy one.

Nor would they have made that move with us. Give Crosby and Malkin good wingers? Even Holmgren isn't that stupid.

Yohe isn't a bad writer he just has a stupid amount of loyalty to the vet players. This is the same guy that could never stop pushing for Craig Adams, Scuderi, etc. When he puts his pro team slant aside and just writes he's good but it's rare.
