Hopefully Poulin stays healthy for a couple weeks to get his bearings. Would like to see him called up around February

Couple things I was always intrigued by and hopeful for with Poulin was how easily he adapted to center (though he’s back on wing I think since returning), even on faceoffs he was winning a ton right away. And the other is how he seems to play better in bigger games like the Q playoffs or AHL playoffs. Just making something out of nothing and powering the puck to the net for a scoring chance when it looks like there’s nothing there.

At the very least, a few of us are convinced that he's -- at a minimum -- a 4th liner. His production in WBS since coming back from injury is promising.

^ talking about Poulin
I've been kind of thinking about him being the 3rd line center next year, with Eller sliding down to the fourth line.

But if he's going to be on the wing, I'd be curious to put him with Malkin.

If Poulin's fit and in form I'd get him up asap. Team needs talent and he's got a lot of NHL in his game.

Interesting. I think the move inside really has been a detriment. Seems like it tanked his Q production, and slowed his adaptation to the pro game.

Poulin's start in WBS was at LW where he had a pretty decent start. Then he went quite cold and was a scratch. Then, after the scratch, they moved him to C where he did fairly well again.

Then last season he had his issues. But I believe he pretty much was only playing at C.

This season I think he's only been LW.

There's some dude on Twitter that tracks all the lineups posted and can tell you the %. But I've finally deleted mine and forget that user's handle.

Poulin playing center is a future for him. Sid retires and Malkin traded after next year opens up the need for young centers. Poulin and Yagar is a start. I posted missing the playoffs and finishing in the top 10 for this draft gives the Pens a nice prospect. My hope is they move up 3 or 4 spots in the lottery and draft the RD from Michigan ST or the big RH center. Pens need some puck luck here but time to begin the rebuild.

Poulin and Yager are nowhere close to franchise centers.

We’ll be lucky if they are like Laughton and Konecny level.

We'll be lucky if Poulin even ends up being an nhl player lol. I don't see much in him.

Yager looks reasonably promising so far, but I agree that we'll probably be lucky if he tops out as a Konecny type. I don't see elite potential in him, though I hope he proves me wrong.

Poulin without a doubt could be a NHLer right now. How effective he is is another question, but much like DOC he could be a 20 pt forward. We just paid 2 mil X 3 and 2 mil x 2 for two of those.

Maybe. His skating seems pretty sketch every time I see him. Doc is an nhl player because he's an actually good skater even if his hands are lacking

Poulin has shown elements of being a power forward, which this team needs. I wish he had a bit more time to fully get his legs under him after playing so little hockey in 2023, but he's too much of an upgrade.

They really need to bring him up after the roster freeze ends.
